In this mist-shrouded forest, black and brown bears grow fat on five different species of Pacific salmon. Bald eagles soar high above waters where sea otters and whales splash. But new legislation working its way through Congress would transfer much of the ancient forest remaining on the Tongass to Sealaska Corporation for industrial clearcut logging and other private development.

Although McTiernan is a master of suspense/horror (Predator & Die Hard),this 52-minute film is the scariest he's ever made, since its story is no fiction, and concerns a massive strike against the rule of law, and democratic government, right here in the USA.Rove's careful orchestration of at least 600 partisan prosecutions by the Department of Justice, so as to give the GOP a big leg up on this or that Election Day.

These are not loan "guarantees"--they are direct taxpayer loans to wealthy nuclear utilities from the government's Federal Financing Bank. And this is just a proposal--it's not a done deal.Nuclear power remains dirty and dangerous, as demonstrated by the recent toxic tritium leaks at the Vermont Yankee reactor and elsewhere. We still don't know how to handle the radioactive waste from existing reactors.

The president's plan is just an opening bid for discussion with Republicans,so you might think that it would include a public option that is supported by most Americans &is extremely popular with Democrats. But there is no public option in the president's proposal.Tell Congress we want a good bill, not just a bipartisan bill.We need them to pass real health care reform with a public option using reconciliation.

I've read the script. It's ridiculous, sexually exploitative, revolting stuff - everything you'd expect from a conservative re-writing of history. In my previous life, I produced and directed over 55 movies, mini-series and feature films. I thought I had pretty much seen anything and everything. But this garbage, coming so soon after Senator Ted Kennedy's death, makes the worst commercial schlock look Oscar-worthy.
