About VoteStrike.com- VoteStrikers don't classify themselves with a label, but are engaged in what could be called "the people's sovereignty movement." They challenge the legitimacy of the US Supreme Court, or any other arm of government, "to bestow upon corporations the immense governing authority" implicit in the conferral of constitutional rights. They base this challenge on a solid founding principle; no governing entity may grant away the people's right to a functional republican form of government. They contend that excessive corporate power has undermined this basic right of the people.
We the people have the power to take our country back and not wait for some politician to fix things. Not by rallies or protest but through simple non-compliance.

Is Amy Goodman a Terrorist? What has come to light with the RNC protests is incredibly disturbing. The arrests of journalists, the use of free speech zones, the mass false arrests and detentions, pop up police lines, and police rushing crowds of protesters even using vehicles as weapons to flank the crowds...these are clear violations of the First Amendment. In regards to journalists, it inhibits the rights of journalists to gather information...

Maced, Beaten, Tortured, Enough is Enough Maybe you are happy with your civil liberties. Some of us are not. It's not a case of move when you are told. It's a case of drawing a line. For a bunch of us the government has stepped over the line. You should be thankful that people are reminding them that they cannot cross certain lines.

How To: Fix Washington? It does not matter if we vote Democrat, Republican or Independent. We have seen Congress change power 3 times since 2000. Each time we were promised that the ways of old were over. We were told that the new party in power would return the power to the people and get rid of the status quo in Washington DC. We were promised solutions to the health care crisis, social security crisis, taxation, inflation and the deficit....

Recession, Gas Prices, HMOs Who's Responsible? It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

Truckers Shut Down Updates The government wants to ensure retailers and suppliers can continue to sell basics such as meat, bread and milk if hauliers bring the country to a halt. They have asked supermarkets to make contingency plans "in case the infrastructure of the country breaks down". Among those who have taken part are farmers, dairies, bakeries and supermarkets. At least four government departments are involved.
