New DNC Ad: Accountability, Not Cover-Ups

Dear Rob Kall,

Recently, the Bush White House illegally disclosed the identity of an American CIA agent in order to hide the administration's deceptions about the war in Iraq.

But instead of finding out who is responsible for the leak and holding them accountable, President Bush last week told America that "I don't know if we're going to find out" who leaked the name of an undercover CIA operative.

So instead of presidential leadership we're getting excuses, cover-ups, denials, and diversions from the Bush White House.

It's time to hold them accountable -- America deserves answers. That's why the Democratic Party is launching a new online ad campaign calling for an independent investigation by a special counsel to find out the truth.

We need to keep the pressure on, otherwise the truth may never come out.

Leaks like these put our national security at risk, and threaten the men and women who protect us. Even worse, a senior Bush administration official admitted to the Washington Post that the purpose of the leak was "purely and simply for revenge." [Washington Post, 9/28/03]

Help Put This Ad on the Air

President Bush won't hold his administration accountable for their illegal actions, so it's up to the American people. Click here to make a secure online donation to put this ad on TV and support Democratic efforts everywhere.

According to a new ABC/Washington Post poll, more than 80 percent of Americans believe the leak is a serious issue, and only 39 percent believe the Bush White House is fully cooperating fully with an investigation. If we don't keep the pressure on President Bush and the White House to come clean about the illegal disclosure of an undercover CIA agent's identity, the truth may never be known.
