The author became disabled soon after a devastating diagnosis. Married and residing with her husband, Ron, a seminary graduate and her cats, Thelma and Louise, she currently lives in Slidell, LA. It was only after she became disabled that she became an artist and contributing writer to two newspapers. She has achieved some awards and recognitions for her art and jewelry designs, and was presented with an "Volunteer of the Year" from a local art nonprofit, after donating her public relations skills to this group. She began her business career at the age of 21 while working for Johnny Carson (yes-THAT Johnny Carson!).
