I've been making that argument for over a decade now. That climate change will inevitably present costs and changes in government that rightwingers have no solutions for or interest in explains everything from the march to towards lower and inadequate tax rates for their monied masters (as evidenced by the anger they're expressing over ACA R&R tierd to their newest tax cuts)starting with Raygun, to the unending and obscene DoD budget. Who needed Bill Gates to make the case that only socialism will provide the necessary money and means to rectify the problems? The obscens inequality we see and perpetuated by both parties either due to action or inaction has been notyhing more than a long term maximizing of the wealth in preparation of a whittling away once the poop really hits the fan. ANd as long as we in this country have to live under the "MONEY IS SPEECH" doctrine those with the wealth will be in a position to minimize the amount of whittling their money mountains will have to suffer in the same way they've sought and secured that wealth, by buying the pols.
