I am a retired registered nurse with 35 years of experience. My husband is a retired college math professor. We have two grown children now living in another state. I am a strong advocate for health care and try to stay up to date in my chosen profession which isn't easy as it changes daily. I believe my 35 years as a nurse gives me the expertise to discuss any health care issue and welcome conversation with anyone who would like to learn or teach me about the subject. I enjoy bouncing ideas off others online and reading their ideas. My passion for years was dancing. I wanted to be a professional dancer, but it was not to be. My husband and I spent years taking all kinds of dance classes and dancing everytime we had a chance. Due to health issues we no longer dance very often and I do miss that. We have spent much time traveling throughout the U.S. and other countries because we enjoy seeing everything on this beautiful planet and meeting and learning about other people. I have not published a book, but all my friends and peers have been telling me for years that I should write a book because of my life experiences. Maybe some day. Perhaps this newsletter will give me the courage to do this. I am what some people refer to as a flaming liberal because I support all environmental issues as well as social justice. If you read anything I write you'll discover that I'm passionate about a lot of things in life and enjoy writing about many things. I recently read that once we reach my age we should no longer need to be passionate about anything. That didn't resonate with me because I believe that without passion for life we shrivel up and die; maybe not physically, but we still die. It would be a slow kind of death for me. I've faced death much more often than I'd prefer, both professionally and personally, so I value and love life. I look forward to sharing this journey with those of you on this site. Namaste.
