The big American breweries stifled beer choice, to the detriment of quality. When craft brewers and the remaining independents struck back with varied and flavorful beers, the big corporations moved to gain monopoly control of beer distribution. Now big beer corporations have gone global, and so has the battle for choice and against monopolies.

The saddest and scariest aspect of the Zimmerman verdict is that it greenlights the vigilantism than stand-your-ground laws are already encouraging.
I've experienced neighborhood crime -- every night. There are better ways to address it than going out armed and taking unilateral action.

Vote Absentee and Forget About ID
Republican policies on absentee voters reveal their concern over voter fraud is a sham. Few absentee voters have to provide ID, even in states that require photo ID at the polls, and the GOP has a history of looking the other way at absentee voter fraud. The explanation is that absentees, unlike poor people who lack ID, either lean GOP or vote like the general voting population.
