A Quandary For Bible-Thumpers
Scripture, especially from the Old Testament, is being used today in a very literal way. The results are absurd--and also extreme and harsh. Many quotations from various stories in scripture are being used to create an "us versus them" attitude. Spiritually open-minded people, including Christians are witnessing the damage by these literal interpretations of "fundamentalists."
Thomas Jefferson Was Right!
The word "democracy" was never included in the US Constitution because Alexander Hamilton (and friends) opposed it, backing the power of the banks. Thomas Jefferson was the advocate for the people and democracy. This struggle continues today.

The Choice: Fear Or Love
Our nation has become very fearful since 9/11, belying our 'home of the brave' anthem, and leading to a more repressive and restricted society. The only way to counter fear is through love, and the only way to counter a fearful society is by becoming loving and compassionate. This requires a bellief in a loving Transcentdent Being.
