While it is true that we have different political parties that are indeed liberal, their agenda is not based on the overwhelming need to end this war and to rid Congress forever of the neo conservative, right wing that has pervaded both major political parties. We can no longer trust the Democratic Party to do the things that must be done to stop this nations slide to fascism. The “blue-dog democrats” in Congress are working in lock-step with the right. The central core of the Democratic National Committee has been taken over by corporate shills. All of our Congressmen and Senators from both parties are bought and paid for before they ever take office. The lack of any meaningful campaign finance reform has been purposely shelved due to the self-interests of the politicians that depend on corporate dollars to fill their campaign coffers.
Ultimately, the losers are the American People. Due to the fact that we have no term limits for Congressmen and Senators, these people again and again line up at the trough to beg for the corporate campaign dollars that enable them to keep their jobs. The question I would now like to put before you is it any wonder why the average American citizen lacks representation? Is it any wonder why these people continue to do the bidding of their corporate sponsors? As long as corporate interests, many of these companies being multi-national companies with no real allegiance to America, continue to call the shots, we all lose. There is no chance of passing real campaign finance reform as long as the corporatists are running the House and Senate. Only when we remove these people and take the long held view of law that corporations are considered “persons” can we take their power to rule the population of this country away from them. A Corporation is not a “person”, regardless of what US law states. A Corporation is a business and has no rights to representation under the Constitution. It is the people rightfully called “citizens” that should direct policy of the US. Corporations that operate in multiple countries are not and should not be considered “citizens”. Person-hood be damned, they are not “persons” they are businesses run by people, and if those people have the right to vote in US elections, that should be good enough. To give corporations rights under the Constitution to engage in free speech by donating mightily to political campaigns is not what the intent of the law when they gave corporations “personhood”. If they want freedom of speech, let them but ads and media coverage to express their view, not load the coffers of shady politicians like Hillary Clinton.
How many articles that basically say what I am writing here must be read before the people of America “get-it”? As long as General Dynamics and Lockheed-Martin and Boeing and General Electric along with the banking interests such as Morgan Stanley and the nation’s largest contributor to political interests, Goldman-Sachs that has donated $1,340,000.00 to political campaigns so far, we cannot attempt to match their influence. It seems as if the only thing American politicians need is our votes in November. After November it is back to wooing the corporatists.
I am asking for help. If we can just make the attempt to replace the Democratic Party in various states, that will send a message to the DNC that cannot, and will not be ignored. The very idea of a major third party taking votes away from Democrats would cause a stampede of corporate shills begging for another chance to make things right. Their plight should fall on deaf ears. How many times will we hear promises that are never delivered? Do you want to do something to end the war? Do you want to do something to get corporate money out of American politics? Are you OK with another attack on a sovereign nation, this time Iran, so that the defense contractors can take another roll in the hay with the Pentagon? It’s all up to you.
