For nearly six years the United States has been the arbiter of world militarism. Under the war-mongering administration of George W. Bush and a weak-minded rubber-stamping Congress, the United States has chosen war-making over peace-making. Rather than exercising its influence to encourage diplomatic negotiations, the current Administration and Congress have used militaristic threats and actions to strong-arm the world. The result, a world that despises the United States with growing vengeance, believing that we, the citizens of this nation, prefer weapons and war over patience and peace.
As an American who believes in the humanity and dignity of my nation, I vow to do my part to force America to change from childlike war-game policies that promote militarism to adult humane policies that embrace peace. I vow to vote only for candidates who understand the national and global value of peace above war.
With the world teetering on the brink of nuclear destruction, it is more necessary than ever to vote for candidates who promote a peaceful agenda. I am pleased to be part of the thousands of peacemakers who will vote only for candidates devoted to ending war and waging peace. I ask all patriotic Americans to do the same.
