Population, Per-Capita Ruin, And Imperialisms of the womb

"Immigration policy in the USA is sharply increasing the Roman Catholic proportion of the population... this is to be seen within the wider context of continuing Papal prohibition of birth control througoht the Catholic world... Those who have made a study of Vatican global strategy maintain that opposition to birth control and abortion has little to do with the sanctity of human life... they believe the real reason is that each new life adds to the 'Catholic Army' and contributes to the funding of the Church."

Michael Semlyen

As population increases our problems mount, per-capita space declines, our social costs and environmental problems escalate, and we continually lose the Better Estate of yesterday.
As the United States "celebrates" passing the 300 million mark, one wonders what exactly there is to celebrate, especially when we consider that a mere few decades ago, in 1967, we had only 200 million people! Then, we had far more per-capita space, far less environmental ruin, far less social costs, and we did not need to import food to live in a country and state once known as the "breadbasket of the world." In short, a better world.
Unfortunately, we still suffer from a virus in the "economic growth" formulation which equates population growth with progress - when, in fact, much of so-called economic growth is merely per-capita diminution. This on-going decline is hidden in numbers which only measure quantity and not quality.
As a result of current economic and religious idiocies we, and our children and grandchildren, continue to suffer an on-going loss of the better estate and a more balanced world. In effect, those who break the population balance tax us all and present us with an ever-declining world... one measured by the most important of qualities and indices.
Today it is plain we are heavily taxed by the Popes and Ayatollahs whose dogmas guarantee massive population increase, often motivated by the unholy intent to gain political power, and rid their own lands of potential young revolutionaries. As a result the rest of us are forced to suffer on-going, per-capita, ruin - all of which these "holy" environmental criminals expect to be absorbed by an already declining and overburdened First World.
Today, we see a world in decline due to waves of humanity forged from out-of-date and reckless "religious" dogma removing the rights of women to responsibly control their reproduction. Environmental ruin, wars and increasing "backlash" terrorism are the direct result.
At this stage in the human sojourn upon the planet, real morality is about producing Balance. Both a real morality and pertinent ethics entail passing balanced budgets, environments, and populations to the next generation, not on-going per-capita and environmental ruin.
In fact, all our problems are made worse by population increase, and we are evermore likely to be involved in wars over water, space, and resources due to continuing population growth.
The Popes and Ayatollahs of the world are thus overtaxing us all exactly at a time when, to produce a better and more secure world, we should be taxing the third child and those who break the balance - as opposed to incentives to increase population and immigration.
Per-capita population "takings" emanating from these imperialisms of the womb are just that, a diminution of our per-capita estates as well as a threat to future peace and tranquility. So who is "selfish" or "racist" here, those who, in a time of crisis, want to preserve a better and more stable world for all children, or those who want to overpopulate for their own ruinous "morality" reasons and political hegemony?
Consider the recent dire and dismal warnings in a study by 1360 experts from 95 nations entitled "Human DamageTo Earth Fast Worsening." This study reveals that humans are "damaging the planet at an unprecedented rate and raising risks of abrupt collapses in nature that could spur disease, deforestation or dead zones in the seas." They indicate that a rising human population has polluted and over-exploited two-thirds of the ecological systems on which life depends, ranging from clean air to fresh water, in the past 50 years.
"At the heart of this assessment is a stark warning" said the 45-member board of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. "Human activity is putting such strain on the natural functions of Earth that the ability of the planet's ecosystems to sustain future generations can no longer be taken for granted and "over the past 50 years, humans have changed ecosystems more rapidly and extensively than in any comparable time in human history, largely to meet rapidly growing demands for food, fresh water, timber, fibre and fuel."
The report continues, and "this has resulted in a substantial and largely irreversible loss in the diversity of life on earth." They conclude by saying that things are getting worse and "the harmful consequences of this degradation could grow significantly worse in the next 50 years."
This study, compiled by experts, including from UN agencies and international scientific and development organisations is surely a wake-up call. As UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said of the study "it shows how human activities are causing environmental damage on a massive scale throughout the world, and how biodiversity -- the very basis for life on earth -- is declining at an alarming rate." Indeed.
In the face of this unprecedented decline, degradation, and per-capita ruin we still have "economists" who praise "growth" and utterly fail to see the idiocy of their faulty and counterproductive formulas. It is rather obvious that, employed by capital, these blind beancounters must hew the Growthism line or be replaced. In effect, many economists today are not only idiots in the environmental arena, but also fascist idiots in their denial of the rights of the great majority to determine trade policies, social goals, and corporate limits.
In any case we must begin to venerate, respect, and foster Balance, and not growth for its own sake. The very condition of the world today demands that we fundamentally alter our policies and incentives. We owe it to our children and all future generations to propound a real economy and balance in our lives.
