Bob Fertik and I are attending the press events and asking questions.

The first event was a meeting for bloggers with movie star Robert Redford and Jerome Ringo, President of the Apollo Alliance, which is "challenging Americans to achieve energy independence by 2015." www.apolloalliance.com

Q role of enviro issues in 2006 election?

RR I hope it plays a role it didn't play in the last election. I think it was criminal – It was just sitting there waiting. That's where you (bloggers) come in.

Q Gores' new film? Impact on election?

RR: positive – I hade some involvement – it's a language that gets the word out to the public – It shows the problem and also the solutions – That's what we've got to be focused on. The public is getting pretty aware. Now let's move to the more optimistic part of where the solutions are

JR: Al Gores's film has ended the debate on whether global warming is real. And a beginning to a real movement toward solutions. We must consider alternatives to fossile fuel. As we in Louisiana experienced category 5 events we were faced with an administration in category 5 denial.

I asked if the Category 5 neglect demanded accountability, including impeachment.

JR said yes to Accountability at the Voting box and In newspapers, but did not mention impeachment.

Then the event ended, but I asked Redford afterwards about impeachment, and he said "Yeah, if it wasn't for control of both houses."

I said "Well, there's an election coming up."

"Yes," he said, but then had to jump onto a radio show.

At next press event, Bob Borosage introduced Stan Greenberg to talk about his Democracy Corps survey, the one that suggests that for Dems to win this year they should make the elections about Bush – but fails to mention impeachment in any way.
