Doylestown, PA September 24, 2004 . . . People read about and listen to self proclaimed experts, day after day, telling them how to live a better life. They think, "He must know what he's talking about. He has all those degrees. I'll give it a try."

As time goes by and their lives become difficult again, they begin to question the expert. "What do they know about my problems? They've never been where I am. They learned this in a classroom." This is the point where they give up and go back to living their lives, in quiet desperation.

There is someone with a different message. A message of hope. A message about taking personal responsibility for the conditions in your life. He's a breadth of fresh air in a self improvement industry overrun with self appointed "experts." He calls himself "Just Jim."

"I'm not Dr. Phil or Dr. Laura, or Dr. Anyone. I'm just Jim. I don't claim to know what's best for you and, I don't have all the answers. I can't fix your life, only you can do that. What I do know is what worked for me and helped me turn my own life around. I've learned and practiced techniques that work and know that if they worked for me, they'll work for you too," he counsels.

"Just Jim" is Jim Donovan, the author of Handbook to a Happier Life, a simple book that anyone can use to have a better life. His motivational seminars offer hope to people who may have little to hope for. He shares practical ideas they can integrate into their own lives.

"I have spoken to lots of people who have been really up against it and are struggling to make something of their life. They don't need lectures from people pointing their finger at them, telling them how life's supposed to be. They've had enough of that. They need to hear from someone who's been there and can identify with their pain. They need to hear from someone who walks his talk.

Just Jim's message is simple, "Within you is the power to change your life." Take responsibility for your life, no matter what, learn to dream, get a clear vision of what you want your life to be like, and take action to create the kind of life you were born to live.

Rob began his Bottom-up Radio show, broadcast on WNJC 1360 AM to Metro Philly, also available on iTunes, covering the transition of our culture, business and world from predominantly Top-down (hierarchical, centralized, authoritarian, patriarchal, big) to bottom-up (egalitarian, local, interdependent, grassroots, archetypal feminine and small.)
