What Chris Hedges And Rob Kall Have In Common

Recently, Chris Hedges wrote an article referring to a problem underlying the impeachment of Trump. The problem he sees is that impeachment leaves in place the enormous disparity in fairness, justice, wealth and power our system provides us as a matter of expressing what a thing is. you can put a ribbon on a T- Rex or paint a peace symbol on its forehead and it remains dangerous, violent and predatory. Our system was created to promote the interests of the few and this must be acknowledged. It is clear Hedges cares about what is wrong with the entirety of our society and does speak eloquently about this. Still, Hedges can not 'see' that what a thing was created to be will persist and he has an obligation to speak to this.

I have also written a small critique of Rob Kalls' book "Bottom Up' and accuse(?) Mr Kall of the same failing as Chris Hedges--the system that fails us cannot be fixed and Kall, as I see it, can not seem to get his head around this.

There are thousands of other well intentioned, intelligent observers who speak to what is wrong with our society and what a shame it is, who also do not and it seems can not acknowledge that the paradigm, the framework, the rules of the road that need fixing cannot be fixed working with mechanisms available for that presumed purpose.

Consider that there is a 'Violence Against Women Act' that is still not implemented--Why do we require such an Act? Consider, also, the story told by the recently deceased opera singer who as a child told her mother that the water from drinking fountains labeled colored and white was the same. Consider the profound, fundamental innocence a child is possessed of--how could this be so terribly corrupted to lead to the existence of those drinking fountains? I am suggesting that child is who we all are at birth and the corrupting influence is the sociopolitical system we are born into and work and live and die within. This system cannot be fixed and this is what I want those serious minded souls like Chris Hedges and Rob Kall and the thousands of others to acknowledge and speak to. This acknowledgement does not fix this but must, must be the starting point.

Finally, I offer this: the existent must be replaced--two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. The biggest problem is the power hierarchy which holds the existent in place and not so much how to create a decent future. Do think about the essential importance of the better future encompassing only that which will be for the 'highest and best good for all concerned and the planet'--transcendent thinking.

I implore those better minds to help with this, acknowledge the existent system cannot be fixed and move up to the starting blocks--HELP!

I am an ordinary citizen who for the first sixty years of his life was mostly disinterested in politics. Then George Bush and Dick Cheney intruded into my consciousness and I realized politics is important and determines who lives and who dies. (more...)
