US Imperial Hegemony Deconstructed

I've got friends in Washington.
"You do?" Some might say. "Why, you must be a crook, then, because that's all they got up there is crooks!"
Not these friends. Kevin Zeese, Atty., and Margaret Flowers, MD are two of the very most knowledgeable and planetarily conscious people I know. Everyone should listen very carefully to their analysis. They are on the scene, have professional investigatorial access to a great deal, and are cutting edge in reporting not only the monster-- Leviathan-- but our resistance to it.

These are my comrades. I have been arrested with them opposing US wars at the White House. They are Attorney General and Health and Human Services Secretary respectively in the Green Shadow Cabinet.
Zeese and Flowers have compiled a document titled "US Empire Reaches Breaking Point: Time to End It." It is authoritative, and contains more links and confirmations than any other document I have read recently.
Last night I was gratified to see that someone else on my political discussion forum had posted this report

in its entirety before I could.
Almost immediately, a right-winger of my acquaintance jumped up and said,
"Right.. . I guess the Russian and Chinese hegemony would be better. Everything in a vacuum when judging the US. Nothing that happens in other countries is to be considered. Trotsky and Lenin were heroes as was Mao, Cultural Revolutions and Berlin walls. Or did all that not happen?"
This kind of paleo-redbaiting had theoretically lost its sting once the Berlin Wall DID come down and both Russia and China became capitalist (regardless of the governmental form of the latter).
As Ray McGovern and other intelligence professionals have written elsewhere, one of the perhaps unintended but potentially disastrous effects of our aggressive NATO-building and the bloody events that have followed it is that Cold War, us-vs.-them animosities going back to World War Two and before have been revived.
But, well, I had to put my scaredy-cat right-wing friend Mark at ease, so I wrote this:
Mark, besides the fact that the US since WWII has been the only nation with the unilateral capability (we think we have it anyway, regardless how it bankrupts us) to conduct major wars anywhere in the world, there is one absolute deal-breaker as far as potential hegemony by anyone but the United States.
Now, no nation can successfully invade, much less conquer, the US, because any prospective conqueror besides our allies Mexico or Canada must cross at least one ocean to get there. The Taliban or anyone attacking from the Persian Gulf would have to traverse TWO, the Indian before the Atlantic.
I calculated how far it is from Kabul to Key West by water, and it comes out to over 12,000 miles the "short" way, down the Indian Ocean around Africa from the Asian continent, and then all the way back up, north and west across the Atlantic Ocean, from the Cape of Good Hope. It's another more than 1200 miles to Washington by boat or rental car. And no, terrorist convoys don't get to take a short cut through the Suez Canal and Mediterranean Sea.
Or they can cross the Pacific!
And they don't have any ships or landing craft, and they don't have any planes besides what they might succeed in hijacking. So start swimming, dudes, don't fergit to keep yer powder dry!
But the deal-breaker is that Russian and Chinese are difficult languages, written in characters that are only used to make those languages, no others. English, of all the Romance languages, is the only one that does not contain conjugations, declensions, agreements, and is written in the characters, without accents and orthographic and diacritical marks, that virtually the entire world recognizes, even Oriental countries that have their own text, like Japanese or Thai (or Russian).
English is by far the easiest language in the world, and that, even more than the fact that England's empire once stretched round the world like America's, is why there will never, ever be any true world hegemony by any country of which the primary language is not English.
China may achieve regional hegemony in Asia, though that is by no means a done deal because India, Vietnam, Australia, Philippines, and Japan, if it survives Fukushima Daichi, have aught to say about that. Russia can never even achieve European regional hegemony except that Europe wants its gas.
America still thinks it has hegemony over both the western hemisphere AND Europe. But let America actually invade a South American nation, and see how quickly and completely the entire South American continent will unite against us.
We can't "pacify" Afghanistan or Iraq. Brazil is about 14 times the size of Afghanistan, with 8 times the population (Iran is 3 times the size of Afghanistan with approaching 4 times the population). You could fit the continent of Australia, or the continental US, inside it. Then throw in Argentina and Venezuela with another million and a half square miles and another 50 million people.
Hegemony over all THAT? impossible even to imagine.
America/Israel's neocons PLANNED to have hegemony over the entire world (the PNAC, by which America still conducts its foreign policy). They have failed. They're drowning in their hubris, and the revelations about Victoria Nuland's covert regime-changing agitation are only the latest proof.
And we have been thoroughly repudiated for it, regardless that we still twist European and Canadian arms to make them do our bidding. That can not go on for eternity. The vassals will eventually tell us to shuck off.
But the language is the main thing, Mark. English is the language of capitalism. It is, for instance, the language of air travel worldwide!
And until the US collapses, it is the language of economic and military hegemony (Hollywood drives the CULTURAL hegemony which we ARE more able to maintain, through our superior entertainment-distribution systems. The behavioral modification for which our infotainment media is designed is one of the most powerful weapons we have in maintaining empire!).
So Mark, don't worry your little head about anybody having hegemony over you except for the AMERICAN police state (polizeistaat). If anyone ever comes to take you away, in the course of an American gleichshaltung (a Hitler concept roughly meaning "bringing into line") you may be virtually sure they will speak your language.

My name is William Perkins Homans the third, but probably more people know me as the bluesman (and artist) Watermelon Slim.
