Republicans will definitely remove Donald Trump from the White House and probably remove him from the ballot by January first.

I say this because, one, polling will show that Trump will lose the White House ,two, the Republicans will lose the Senate and more seats in the House, and the rot will project down to State governorships and State houses being lost. This is becoming more evident every day as evidence builds and the GOP's defense and wall of resistance crumbles.

Most significant, the Republicans have to face the reality that they will need to run a primary which will include many contenders. To make that viable they must make it clear that Trump is not in contention for the presidency by January 1st.

One way or another, either by forcing Trump to resign, or by impeaching him in the Senate, the Republicans are going to remove Donald Trump. I've been predicting this for several weeks now and the signs are clearer now and becoming stronger every day. Trump's removal could even happen by Thanksgiving or Christmas.

It is certain that Trump will not be in the White House, but his name may remain on some ballots. I predict that the Republican leadership will do all in their power to force him to remove his name to protect the Republican brand and Republican power in 2021.

Here is an interesting comparison of the level of turnover of key positions in the Trump Administration to that of previous administrations:

What is rather surprising is the elevated number of cabinet-level resignations under protest showing that the Trump Team is not really a team at all.

The linked article you provide is misleading. First, over one-half of the turnover is due to forced resignations. Two, the rest seem to be primarily officials indebted to the military/industrial/political triumvirate b/c as Major General Smedley Butler wrote, "war is a racket."

The politicians clamoring for his impeachment also profit from wars and military interventions that Trump has pledged to end.

People who want Trump ousted are unwittingly or wittingly wanting to keep the war racket humming.

As for those who claim Trump is a psychopath, they should read my last two books and several articles where my research clearly indicates that ALL US presidents have been psychopaths.

Absolutely, and I am just one of many who predict it. See my latest book and its footnotes. Go to Amazon Books and type Gary Brumback's "911!" book and continue to the Look Inside section.

I am not being prescient, just being logically deductive and also remembering the nuclear bombs dropped on who Japanese cities and the several "near misses."

I don't think they are going to get their long wanted bomb, bomb Iran war. Well, could be wishful thinking that the people will have had enough. Hope they listen Tulsi sooner rather than latter. She has number one overall right message. Basically adding up the costs of these wars are costing domestic solutions, we don't deserve as long as Congress does not declare war, before putting soldiers in harm's way.

Also, my hopes are based on today's indignation running it's course with things smoothing out as was kept secret in Daniel. There have also been a couple things told me out of the blue over these years, that help keep some hard to find faith, making it worth while to keep seeking peaceful solutions.

Who ever or where ever those out of the blue people came from can not ever be thanked enough. The cost of phones thrown through TV would break anyone.

I disagree. The problem with all the national polls -though not the state polls - is that they don't reflect how we actually elect a president. Trump lose the popular vote by nearly 3m votes and still won by the Electoral College. The difference might be even larger this time, though if we don't have a recession next year, the power of the incumbency could cause him to win the popular vote then too.

No incumbent has lost during a non-recession since WWII (Bush I was coming just off a recession and had also raised taxes, so he's almost an exception, but not quite).

The impeachment will die in the Senate, which requires 2/3 to remove a president. Trump knows this, and won't leave no matter who turns on him. He's happy to jettison anyone disloyal, even Republicans. He only cares about himself, not anyone else, or the country. He's not even as country concerned as Nixon. That is his Superpower.

This is still a bold prediction, but I believe it is right. The GOP house of cards is starting to teeter in the breeze. The Goldwater moment will come.

Ironically, the greatest stress on the GOP support so far has been the withdrawal from Syria. He may have gone about it the wrong way and for the wrong reasons but it's the right thing to do. The Deep State, whatever exactly that is, has an interest in keeping its rooks and knights on the 6th rank. Tulsi Gabbard went against DS wisdom and has now been slimed by HRC, a member in good standing of the Council for Foreign Relations. Despite that, I believe the notion that keeping Trump in office is the way to world peace is delusional.

The storming of the closed door depositions, on which Republican committee members sit, and giving a TV speech claiming it's an attempt to undo an election, is a pathetic stunt. The Don commanded them to fight harder, but this is all they've got. The substance of their arguments is dissolving, one piece after another. They were bleating "no quid pro quo" like sheep "four legs good two legs bad" but now it turns out there was. It is now beyond dispute that Trump used his power to conduct foreign policy, and US taxpayer dollars, for the sole purpose of advancing his reelection--unless you're chugging down a 10 gallon carboy of the MAGA Kool Aid.

The senate will not convict trump. Trump will not resign. Enough Republicans will support him even if the ship sinks. Barring Trump allowing Russian troops to patrol the streets of U.S. cities (EU, and ME excluded) he will remain until Jan. 2021. Next question?

Very interesting about the Russian troops. That is very likely Putin's endgame and the only reason Trump ever became President to begin with. Russian troops patrolling the streets, by that reckoning, would therefore actually be the beginning of the Putin Era (ironically via "America First").

PS You'd sound more like the strong minded, super-intellectual we all know you to be if you had the foggiest notion of what a metaphor actually is:

"a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable."

  • John's suggestion was just a Band-Aid for the problem.
  • The cast on his broken leg was a plaster shackle.
  • Laughter is the music of the soul.
  • America is a melting pot.
  • Her lovely voice was music to his ears.
  • The world is a stage.
  • My kid's room is a disaster area.
  • Life is a rollercoaster.

So, since Carol was using "Russian troops..." to mean literally "Russian troops...", in this context, that phrase had precisely the opposite meaning of a metaphor.

Go get 'em, tiger...

I am saying that impeachment will never reach the Senate. The pathetic, small number of Trump Kookaid drinking supporters will not be enough to save Republican Senate, additional losses in the House or state Republican governorships and legislative bodies. The GOP leadership will give Trump an ultimatum he can't refuse. And it will happen before Jan 1, so there can be a viable Republican primary process.

Every day the Republican wall of resistance crumbles more, further confirming my prediction. I was talking with Linsey Davis, one of ABC's September Democratic debate moderators yesterday. I told her my prediction and she laughed. But then I told her that the wall was cracking, that even Mitch McConnell had denied Trump's claim that he'd discuss the Syria decision with him.
"He did?" she replied. I gave her my card and told her to remember me when Trump is gone before the end of the year. The problem is that the MSM should be exploring the possibility that this will happen. The more they talk about it, the more likely it will be to happen.

And shame on anyone, who, at this point, does not believe that Trump deserves to be removed. You are abetting a constitutional criminal.

I don't share your certainty, much as I'd like to. But I think other outcomes are also very likely. Impeachment and removal are much more likely than previously thought, depending on the timing of the nearly inevitable crumble. It's also possible the GOP will hold and bring about the result most favorable to Democrats: the stick of dynamite the GOP is circling its wagons around blowing up. Finally, regrettably, it has to be considered possible that Trump weathers the storm and secures the nomination, rallying the MAGAits and forcing the 1% and other traditional Republicans to go with him rather than see their stock portfolios suffer the impact of "radical left wing" Democrats like Sanders or Warren (just remember how long a shot Trump's victory was considered even against a weak and despised candidate like HRC back in 2016).

I hope you are right. I am exhausted by this adolescent mobster, ands deals, and his taking credit for fixing what he breaks.

I wonder if the MSM talking about it will make it happen. I worry that it will make the Trumplicans dig in their heels and work to undermine any real progress in removing him. I also worry about the total disorder of his mind, and what he might do. I live with someone experiencing senile dementia... and he was a good guy, before the confusion hit. The infantile narcissist in the WH is malignant to his toes.

Also, I am astonished by the number of people who cannot recognize what is happening before their eyes. I realizethat it is the unintended consequences/effects of this revolution of information technology (the anarchy the internet, hacking, and weaponization of disinformation), but,it is also the total lack prior knowledge that makes it impossible for good folks to realize how propaganda has destabilized the world before.

Still, I meet brilliant people who 'approve' of WHAT he just di, not considering HOW (the ways which) he did it, and how that damaged America in theses of our allies.

70 years without a world war, and the next one looms large...and nuclear weapons are on the loose. I hate the hegonomy and what we have done (I ain't stupid), but I fear chaos.

Obama became a constitutional criminal when he signed the NDAA which contained language allowing the indefinite detention of anyone, including American citizens without charge or trial or notification to family. That's just one example.

I don't recall any calls from the establishment media, congress or the liberal Dems for him to be impeached. Just sayin'.

I hope you are right, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I believe that most republicans both hate and support trump because they fear him.

I doubt he would resign. Voting to convict him in the Senate and get rid of him once and for all would benefit them and the Country and, hopefully, prevent the violence that will likely happen, like an MLB Umpire threatened yesterday.

They should look at impeachment as their 'Get Out of Jail' card and salvation from the trump cult. But, ironically, that is the problem with being in a cult. They'll probably drink the Kool-Aid before giving in.

I doubt that we'll be able to get rid of Pence, but at least he is not as crazy as Trump. Of course, Trump has massively increased the power of the Executive branch and Pence will use every bit of it, so he will be dangerous for the 12-13 months he holds the office.

I disagree. I've been persuaded by Dennis Kaiser that the most formidable Republican candidate has not declared yet-- Nikki Haley, former governor of NC and ambassador to the UN.

She will draw the support of Hillary supporters.

That's probably so. But it's hard for me to imagine them dumping the (then) current President, and former Vice President, for an ex-governor and UN ambassador. And I think we shouldn't kid ourselves about how formidable he'd be as a Presidential candidate. We're talking about an electorate which, even now, could re-elect Donald Trump as President.

The house has not even voted on an "impeachment inquiry." This is all a stunt to keep people on the edge of their seats while watching a soap opera/wrestling match on TV. I do so wish someone besides the orange buffoon were in the leading role, but nothing I have seen from the dems gives me any hope in that direction.

Unfortunately, the insane warmongers have Trump by the wah-whoop and he will not be the GOP candidate in 2020 UNLESS he illegally invades Iran, in which case the impeachment will suddenly be determined there wasn't enough evidence to go forward, or some other such excuse.

Unfortunately, the warmongers have control and only the masses can stop it as it is apparent the United Nations couldn't care less about human rights across the world and the Hague holds a blind eye toward war crimes and crimes against humanity coming from the United States of America.

This is all theater to distract the masses. You'll notice impeachment wasn't on the table until Ukraine was involved.

The bankers are scared to death of losing any of their IMF indebted regime change governments. They need that debt service or they will go under real fast.

With China and Russia's Belt and Road Initiative getting closer, the Western aristocracy wants as many counties under their control for debt extraction as possible. They don't trust Trump to carry out their agenda. He's too focused on promoting himself to worry about the geopolitics of the 1%

Don't believe me? Have you noticed all the uprisings against IMF austerity lately? The bankers are losing control and are in a panic.

Wet dreams don't usually have a sound argument that they're based on as Rob's argument does.

I still think that Trump's popularity with the GOP rank and file presents an almost insurmountable problem for what Mr. Kall assures us is an inevitability. But things do seem to be moving somewhat in the direction he describes. In any event, I would at least give him credit for providing a rational basis for his "thesis".

Namaste.

Rob is entitled to his personal opinions. His repeated pleas for financial support to OEN shouldn't make him feel he can't express himself freely. I have seen some pretty wild predictions here.

That aside, the bigger issue is a very dirty game is being played out to remove Trump from office. More by crook than by hook. Even if it succeeds, it will leave an indelible stain on the very idea of justice and fair play in a democracy. Whether or not Americans who hate him so viscerally believe in such quaint notions any longer. There is no honor in how the man has been harried and hounded like a wild animal every step of the way.

Calls to impeach him began, ludicrously, from the day he got elected, even before he took the oath of office. If an individual can be punished in advance for anticipated future crimes on someone's say so, half the population would be marking jail time. These calls have built up to feverish heights in a perverse frenzy of wish-fulfillment, such that every lapse or transgression of his has been magnified as an impeachable offense to bolster the 'I told you so' credentials of those who issued them.

An astonishing level of hypocrisy has been on display from supposedly fair-minded people. While going after the man with every real or contrived justification, the same people have been content with empty clucking noises about the far greater crimes of his predecessors and the arguably unethical, if not criminal, conduct of the rival who lost to him.

The English pride themselves on cricket as a gentleman's game. They have an expression to describe unfairness: 'it is not cricket'. The same people who are quivering with anticipation of the axe finally descending on Trump's neck would stampede into a baseball stadium if the lowliest player on the field had been subjected to a fraction of such unfair treatment from the referee. It is not baseball.

Didn't say that. His unpredictable policy zigzags, U-turns and liberties with facts deserve criticism. But they don't amount to impeachable offenses as defined in the constitution. The statements and actions of those who wish to remove him -- especially elected representatives and current and former government employees -- deserve equal criticism. Some of them amount to criminal conduct. Fair play means taking a balanced view and dealing with both sets of statements/actions objectively and proportionately.

Trump is a phenomenon Americans invited upon themselves by writing blank checks to a series of presidents before him who are guilty of heinous war crimes. It is a travesty of justice that these people -- Bill Clinton, Obama and George Bush -- are walking tall and talking free today as if butter won't melt in their mouths. They should be facing a war crimes tribunal. Fair play means not brushing aside one's conscience as if these people are not greater criminals in the hysteria to get Trump.

"His unpredictable policy zigzags, U-turns and liberties with facts deserve criticism. But they don't amount to impeachable offenses as defined in the constitution."

But his serial obstructions of justice, individual acts of collusion with Russia (even if not rising to a conspiracy), accepting of emoluments and withholding of military aid unless Ukraine investigated a political opponent, etc are eminently impeachable. Nixon voluntarily resigned for just the merest fraction of what Trump has done. As abhorrent as the shameful fact that multiple Presidents have invaded countries without the consent of Congress is, Trump's countless abuses of Presidential power, singularly place the of the trajectory of his impeachable offenses on path to undo our system of checks and balances, essential Congressional oversight and fundamentally upend the whole concept that our three branches of government are co-equal.

To me, to compare the scale, extent, magnitude and threat to our whole system of government of Donald Trump's impeachable offenses, with any of his predecessors, is simply to cynically skew modern history.

Read my response to Jim Arnold below. This is precisely why I take interest in the approaching show trial. Apparently, it matters far more to Americans than the truly important war crimes tribunal.

I am replying to your statement that none of Trump's actions are "impeachable as defined by the constitution". That's just plain ("how do I put this nicely...?") ridiculous. And it's not any less so no matter how many people have been killed by American imperialism. They are not interdependent issues. Little Johnny is not off the hook for shoplifting at CVS because Jeffrey Daumer ate people. If you want to make the outlandish statement that the only impeachable offense under the Constitution is the invasion of a foreign country, I'm going to have to risk sounding like any other rational person in America, on TV or off, and dismiss that argument as nonsense.

The first 5 of Trump's impeachable offenses. See the rest HERE:

  • The trail of evidence starts with Trump's attempt to get James Comey, the FBI director responsible for overseeing the investigation into Trump's relationship with Russia during the 2016 election, to drop an investigation into National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
  • When Comey refused, Trump fired him.
  • Trump made two more attempts at stopping the investigation by trying (unsuccessfully) to fire Robert Mueller, Comey's predecessor. Then, Trump ordered White House Counsel Don McGahn to create a false record indicating that no attempts took place McGahn refused.
  • Trump has repeatedly attempted to intimidateor influencewitnesses in proceedings against him.
  • In all, Robert Mueller's investigation revealed multiple instances where there was "very substantial" evidence that Trump had committed obstruction of justice.
  • Read more about Donald Trump's obstruction here.

2. Profiting from the Presidency

  • The Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause prohibits the president from accepting personal benefits from any foreign government or official.
  • Trump has retained his ownership interests in his family business while he is in office.
  • Thus, every time a foreign official stays at a Trump hotel, or a foreign government approves a new Trump Organization project, or grants a trademark, Trump is in violation of the Constitution.
  • Trump has repeatedly pushed his properties as avenues to secure his favor, and multiple foreign officials have stayed at his properties while lobbying his administration.
  • Trump attempted to promote his clubin Doral Florida for the 2020 G-7 Conference.
  • And every time he goes to golf at a Trump property, he funnels taxpayer money into his family businessviolating the Domestic Emoluments Clause.

3. Collusion

  • In the middle of the 2016 election, Trump's son was invited to meet with a Russian national regarding "information that would incriminate Hillary and"would be very useful to" Donald Trump. Donald Trump Jr. was told it was "part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump." Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Campaign Chairman Paul Manafort took the meeting.
  • Federal law prohibits campaigns from soliciting or accepting anything of value from a foreign national.
  • Paul Manafort and Rick Gates met with Konstantin Kilimink, likely a Russian spy , multiple times in the summer of 2016 to provide him with internal campaign polling data detailing the Trump campaign's midwestern strategy. Manafort lied about these meetings to the FBIeven after pleading guilty to other crimes.
  • This relationship between the Trump team and multiple Russian nationals raises questions of whether the campaign aided a hostile foreign power's active operation against the United States.

4. Advocating Political & Police Violence

  • When Trump gave cover to the neo-Naziswho rioted in Charlottesville and murdered a protester, he violated his obligation to protect the citizenry against domestic violence.
  • When Trump encouraged police officers to rough up people they have under arrest, he violated his obligation to oversee faithful execution of the laws.
  • Trump and his rhetoric have been cited in numerous criminal proceedingsas being the inspiration and justification for political violence.
  • When faced with impeachment in the House, Trump has alludedto his supporters engaging in insurrection to keep him in power a rallying cry readily picked upby his supporters.

5. Abuse of Power

  • President Trump threatened to withhold aid from Ukraine if its Prime Minister did not investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son. Using taxpayer dollars to manipulate an important ally against Russia and attack a political rival is a clear abuse of presidential power.
  • Furthermore, this administration tried to conceal the whistleblower complaint that brought this corruption to light and label the civil servant who filed it as partisan.
  • In addition, Trump's decision to pardon Joe Arpaio, who was convicted for contempt of court after ignoring a court order that he stop detaining and searching people based on the color of their skin, amounted to an abuse of the pardon power that revealed his indifference to individual rights, equal protections, and the separation of powers.
  • Pardoning this conviction goes against the Fifth Amendment, which allows the judiciary to issue and enforce injunctions against government officials who flout individual rights.

Hello Ramani. Your tolerance of Trump from the beginning of his candidacy betrays the indifference, if not the vengeance, of an aggrieved outsider.

Trump's "unpredictable policy zigzags, U-turns and liberties with facts deserve criticism. But they don't amount to impeachable offenses as defined in the constitution."

No, but of course, if his blatant abuse of power, flagrant pursuit of emoluments, obstruction of justice, and conspiracies with foreigners don't amount to impeachable offenses, then no President can ever be impeached, and the Constitution will lose even its slim protection against despotism.

A USA ruled by emperors would be a bigger threat to India and the world than a USA capable of being restrained by a diverse elite and susceptible to democratic influence.

What's the Hindi word for "schadenfreude"? You may come to rue these, your small enjoyments.

The constitution only defines "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" as impeachable offenses. I believe the plurals on both terms is highly significant. That would indicate not only a very high bar indeed for a President to be considered for removal from office, but that "high crimes and misdemeanors" would have to be characteristic, i.e. even the norm of a particular administration- not isolated instances of a President overreaching his authority as many Trumpsters would like to point to as the "impeachable offenses" of Trump's predecessors.

But, as far as the Donald is concerned: even the Mueller report listed, what was it- 16 bona fide acts of obstruction of justice (?), just within the time period that that investigation was focusing on. This wouldn't include the numerous obstructions such as intimidating witnesses, ordering subordinates to ignore subpoenas, etc, since then. So, the notion that Trump hasn't committed any crimes, even in a mere technical sense of the word, comes out of absolutely nowhere as far as I'm concerned.

I disagree. One act of treason would clearly be enough. The plural forms just mean that there can be a number of acts that can be considered "high crimes", and a number that can be considered "misdemeanors."

Jim, I would suggest that the US citizens are the true outsiders and the "Deplorables" (just one example of the theme running through it) slip leaves no doubt about this issue.

This demonstrates that American should stop voting in the rigged elections and vote with their feet in the streets in mass. Either the President is preselected puppet of deep state (Obama or his wannabe clone, Killary) or the deep state takes direct control through bringing all attempts by the citizens for a competing voice in the direction/s of the country to a standstill. This leaves no doubt that not only has there been a coup against the established Representative Republic, Constitution, Bill of Rights, its Treasure, Commons and Unalienable Rights there in described by all of the former.

Any support of this bread and circus demonstrates this complete control of denying any forming of a more perfect union of the citizens internally or externally setting up a global Fascist Regime. I usually refer to as a transnational criminal cabal free of any hindrance of a free and open society (and all that entails) in any nation states' self governance by the citizens.

Bottom line; Trump has been great just to show this truth in plain sight for any with eyes to see. How is this accomplished in plain sight even after being exposed?

There is no polite way to put this, George. If those whom the shoe fits are offended, so be it.

The very idea of an 'outsider' in the present context smacks of a rulers vs. subjects undercurrent in the mind. How dare a subject question what should be the priority for the empire's loyal citizens? So what if a few million subjects got squashed like cockroaches? Pshaw..we have far more pressing issues concerning ourselves. Such as someone like Trump ripping off the paper cover of democracy pasted over our cupboard full of skeletons all these years. And exposing things that subjects were not supposed to see ever. Traitor, hang him from the nearest tree and let's get someone, anyone, to grab some fresh sheets of paper!

Until Americans are ready to "vote with their feet in the streets in mass", voting can sometimes be rewarding, educational, and even inspiring. I expect lots of people to be educated in how their votes for Sanders are stolen or nullified. A critical mass of citizens will only be realized by their frustration, not by their non-participation.

Jim, I agree on the education, rewards and inspirational spirit if it truly results in a voice in the governance that affects their Treasure, Commons and Unalienable Rights. The question is not participation but effective participation. You have of course pointed out many of the reasons that voting has been co-opted and has not produced any significant progress in forming a more perfect union for the citizens. Voting in the last few decades have proven that it is not a viable vehicle of resort for changing the guard so to speak in its current restraints, not of the citizens but those in power who have nullified the founding principles of the Republic! This is not the first nor the last time we will have to fight to reinstate those founding principles.

In fact all the issues of inequality of voice in governance on so many levels of which financial inequality is only one of many but all the result of the ineffective results of vote counting and all the other factors. This includes a controlled propaganda from an Oligarchy cabals involved in the taking away any voice prohibiting a free and open society.

"Patriotism does not love your Government, a Patriot is one that loves their country and watches their Government." Unknown origin

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day. But a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers (administrations), too plainly proves a deliberate systematic plan of reducing us to slavery. I would not consider "voting with their feet in the streets in mass" non-participation Jim. We have been "educated in how the votes for Sanders were stolen or nullified" not too mention the theft of treasure stolen from them in the process and the court's ruling that suckers are suckers and should not expect any form of redress in policy or treasure.

It continues today unaltered and unabashed with the full participation of murdering the possibility of a Republic of an open and free society by all the corporate media, tech corporations and their owners which are either transnational criminal cabals or vassals through all the mafia (fascist) modus operandi employed. The Iron Law of Oligarchy rules the day........

Hello yourself, Jim. You are making so many assumptions about my motives, I suspect you are an Indian swami with mind-reading powers!

To wit. An indifferent person wouldn't bother commenting at such length. Despising criminals who caused the deaths of millions is a call for bringing them to justice, not vengeance. Unless every judge in your courts has a different notion of why he/she is there. I am not aggrieved. I am outraged. At your let bygones be bygones indifference to such crimes. The US turned into a military-police state with unitary presidential powers since the time of Bush. Maybe you slept through it? Last, I have little patience with patriots. Both Indian patriots under Modi and American patriots who can't think beyond their domestic squabbles when their enormous military slaughter machine has been running amok around the world since 9/11. Schadenfreude would be a natural reaction from everyone on the wrong side of your cannons.

Your domestic grievances against Trump are petty compared to the sentiments of those from countries destroyed by the US at an unspeakable price in blood and tears. You need to be an outsider to be able to point out the empire is stripped of conscience. If you really had 'democratic influence', none of it could have happened.

Calm down shad :) you are mostly among friends, don't you know. Good to hear from K V and renew other missed chances for great perspectives and historical links of vetted or verifiable information in forming that proverbial perfect union.

"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic." -- Dresdin James

It is so much better to know reality by exploration, than by rehashing MSM and other Matrix shenanigans hiding realities. I'll have the red pill please, "harsh knowledge, desperate freedom, and the brutal truths of reality". *

Mark Twain describes the blue pill and nails it; "Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing tactics, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception."

(*) Directly derived from a scene in the 1999 film: The Matrix .

"Metaphorically representing a choice between the "red pill", representing a life of harsh knowledge, desperate freedom, and the brutal truths of reality, and the "blue pill", representing a life of luxurious security, tranquil happiness, and the blissful ignorance of the harsh realities of life, basking in an (essentially dishonest) illusion. The terms, popularized in science fiction culture, are directly derived from a scene in the 1999 film; The Matrix .

Yes, of course you are outraged by the greater crimes of Trump's predecessors. But for someone to claim Trump's actions "don't amount to impeachable offenses as defined in the constitution" either indicates that they are uninformed (which you obviously are not) or twisting in some sort of bias.

Americans and the world will not be better off if the US sinks into despotism. I'll take any punishment of official malfeasance, even if it leaves greater crimes untouched. If anything, the principle that "no one is above the law" being applied to Trump only makes other, greater crimes more easily brought to justice. It's as simple as this: A defense of relatively small crimes doesn't make the prosecution of larger crimes more likely; it only cheapens the idea of criminality.

We haven't been in agreement on this for three years.

Trump's real crime is he hasn't wrecked a new country for the third year as president. An infuriating display of disobedience to the deep state gods who need regular mass human sacrifices and are determined to make an example. For long, I had pinned my hopes on upright Americans to bring an end to this new age of barbarism. I am dismayed to see them tripping over themselves to rationalize why they have allied themselves with the same deep state they were bitterly opposed to before Trump.

Your priorities of justice are just plain wrong. There are moral limits to expediency. There are no statutory limits on mass murder. Getting Trump down by supping with the devil will be a pyrrhic victory.

A parting thought. Only an outsider can tell you this in today's America of mass hysteria.

Ramani, if impeachment of Trump would in any way detract from the call for prosecution of others for crimes against humanity, I could see your point. But I have to say, your thinking is incomprehensible to me.

If someone is being prosecuted for molesting his daughter do you object to his indictment because the Epstein scandal is being buried? No, you refer to the rightful prosecution of everyday crimes to argue with greater force for the prosecution of systemic crimes by the rich and powerful.

Let's agree that Trump should be impeached, but let's also insist, with more focus, persuasiveness, and consistency, that his predecessors should stand in the Hague for their far greater crimes.

Analogies can be set up as straw men. I could offer one between serial killers and a pickpocket.

The bottom line is Americans can work themselves into a motherless uproar when their self-interest is threatened. They can put philosophers to sleep with their stoic patience while others get snuffed out permanently.

By all means, lop off Trump's head and get your cherished democracy back, if you can. The rest of us shall try to survive your next (s)elected polished killer as best as we can. We both know there isn't going to be a Nuremberg II in our lifetime. The guilty will get Epsteined if we ever got close to one.

Rob, I definitely think he will be out before the election. I had a vague feeling that a shift was occurring and when Anthony Scaramucii startrd saying it on major networks I felt lime my instincts were founded. I remember whe mn Trump was running for office and people were laughing about the prospect I had a similar feeling telling me he was going to win. I feel like the "messaging" being put out through subliminal messages during 2016 were leaning toward nationalism and were geared to stoking racial tensions. I'm not referring to the over messages being put out on social media, and the obvious attempts to push certain candidates, but it's more below the surface than that. There are stories which seem like they should be just a blurb and the media will cling onto it and give it heavy rotation to slowly nudge people in that direction. It is also evident in the stories that are picked up on all the media stations regardless of slant. That tells me there is an underlying plan that the main stream media have all been instructed to push. I also thought that Scaramucci was giving Trump too much time saying it would be in March because as you so accurately point out that would leave the GOP behind the 8 ball. I am also concerned about the impact of the Deutche Bank troubles as it relates to Trump's open threat that the economy will collapse if he is voted out (I'm assuming he thinks the same is true if he is driven out). Also I hope the FBI and law enforcemebt are following the organization of domestic terror groups who are "ready to defend "their president" and the greatnl republic. I want Trump out badly but we have to be ready for the backlash.

Not gonna happen. POTUS is very popular with his base and any R senators or reps who betray him are cooked. Bye bye Mitt (and good riddance). The impeachment will fail and will boomerang back on the dems. Several DOJ investigations are nearing completion and will bring down the house on the corrupt Obama FBI and DOJ officials. Dems are going to lose their minds when their liberal heroes are indicted. But when their crimes are exposed these traitors won't be able to walk down the street.

I can't attest to Rob's prediction with his certainty, but it's a hell of a lot more likely than yours. The newly politicized DOJ's investigation of the investigation is the biggest "nothing burger" of all, and is just a political smokescreen to cast doubt on any investigation of this crooked Don now in the WH. All attempts to discredit the Mueller investigation so far have failed, including Nunes' forced declassification of the FISA application against Carter Page which, on the contrary, legitimized it. Barr's "criminal investigation" is a distraction, nothing more.

This all sounds like Qanon nonsense. If it is I hope.you realize Q id a Steve Bannon psyop. So much of that cultish drivel has been proven wrong and absurd. I don't know if the impeachment vote will fail but I can tell you from history Nixon's base stood by him probably for the same reason's Trump's base stays woth him, self interest. When the truth starts becoming too obvious to pripagandize your way out of people start jumping ship. These Republicans have zero ethics, zero morals and are 100 percent notivated only by self interest. Even Hitlers moat loyal inner circle started looking to save themselves when the end was near, and were willing to throw Hitller under the bus if it meant they could save themselves. That is what happens because there is no honor among theives (and liars, con men etc). Haven't you been paying attention to the changing winds in the media? Fox news has been admitting more negative things about Trump and othe publications like thr Eahington Examiner are starting to be more and more anti Trump. This is because they know he ia going down and they are preemptively trying to make themselves look beyter in the aftermath. The sogns are all there. As for Trump's base , I will grant you the fact that their cultlike devotion makes them immune to any real facts and evidence so they probably will vote for him again but they didn't get him elected. trump won because of a perfect storm, a combination of an oh so hateable Hillary and a mish mash of deaaffected workers (many who wanted Bernie BTW and switched to Trump when Hillary got the nomination, and the evangelical vote etc. But he has loat many of tuese groups. Plus like most lying politicians his platform made comments that he supported the LGBTQ community saying that Kaitlyn Jenner could use whatever bathroom she wanted to use etc. And then he turned on them so any of them who might have voted for him for supposed econimic reasons will definitely not vote for him again becsuse he turned out to be a sham on both of those. He hasn't completed one thing he said he was going to accomplish, his foreign policy has been an absolute disaster as has his domestic policy. He has done about as well on economic policy as he did with hos won personal businesses. (Someone should she told him you can't just declare bankruptcy as the President) and I don't believe the man has ever read the Constitution. Not only that he surrounded himself with "yes men" because hia ego is too big to acknowledge he has no idea what he is doing. If he would have surrounded himself with intelligrnt ethical conservatoves he may have done some good. But thats not his style.

In the True Spirit of Daytime Television, think of "Let's Make a Deal!".

Contestant Trump can select door #1, door #2, or door #3.

Door #1: A Trillion Dollars, tax free, and one way tickets to Turkey.

Door #2: A Trillion Dollars, tax free, and one way tickets to Russia.

Door #3: A Trillion Dollars, tax free, and ownership of Greenland.

Greenland? That would mean all options are on the table...like Venezuela, Iran...may Norway if they aren't careful and don't detour the Nord Stream 2.

Actually Denmark the last hold out on Nord Stream 2 ok'd it through Denmark coastal waters about a week ago, done deal and very close to full completion by the first of the year I believe. Maybe the Greenland snafu remark from Trump was the deal breaker with Denmark over the "absurd" remark from Trump in reference to Greenland........

Sorry for being unclear and late. I meant to imply that if Norway goes along with approving NS II they would might make it to the US hit list. I am happy that the ruling elites there have a spine.

I hope you're right. But if and when Trump is impeached, I fear that Mitch will refuse to hold a trial, or will hold one that's a complete sham. There's no depth to which he will not stoop.

When Trump is "acquitted" he will be even more emboldened to destroy our country. There will be no end to his crowing and dissembling.

I hope that the public hearings in the House which about to come will inform enough of the electorate that they will be motivated to vote him out in 2020.

But then there's the ongoing problem of the hackable, programmable voting machines that experts say led to the installation of at least three senators who did not win their seats in 2016. The RNC hacking/wrecking crew has to keep the Senate to ensure that the Courts are fully corrupted. Trump/Mitch have done a fine job of ensuring that we're under the thumb of the oligarchs for decades.

Is this the only thing we can discuss for the sake of discussing something unrealistic, nor an answer to forming a more perfect union? I have mentioned grotesque self deception as a stated description by Samuel Clemens in which we find ourselves in today. We do not have a representative governance whether we speak of State or National levels.

If one dares to find a starting point for some way out of here, it begins with this discussion. I would start at 7:20 into the video. This would make for a great article for discussion but alas, no one dares and I can only hope the discussion materials demise in any rational thought provoking articles with diminishing returns here in OEN has been from either grotesque self deception/s or failure and fear of addressing the real issues facing our nation and the world. We need to grow up, grow a pair, lead, follow or get the hell out of the way or whatever phrase fits.

"Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing tactics, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception." -- Mark Twain

I was reminded of General Michael Hayden, former NSA Director's comment that "We kill people on the basis of meta data." An incredibly immoral attitude from an immoral human uttering we kill people statements.

People such as Hayden and the oligarchs that he unlawfully works for, disdainfully ignore the rule of law so routinely that they have probably forgotten, that they are accountable to the people of this constitutional republic, who have consented that government led by those like him fill in for the people in carrying out duties and responsibilities in accordance to the constitution.

He has failed on both counts and is a traitor. What is a traitor? A traitor is not Snowden, nor is it the Australian journalist and publisher, Julian Assange. Instead the traitors work for the ugly deformed monsters who globally exercise the raw naked evil power to drag any individual irrespective of their native sovereignty from anywhere in the world where they have the power to demand obedience to the doorsteps of evil doers in the US. These would be the corrupt ruling class governments of the UK, Ecuador, Sweden and the corrupt silent Australians.

These monsters are evil which continues to lift itself above the law by no means other than that of men with guns, daring anyone watching to bring it to justice.

Does this mean Michael Hayden can be sent to the gallows or lamp post without trial and jury? As we have seen that meta data is subject to manipulation and used for manufacturing consent by manufacturing false flags by the very organization and deep state that he left in name but not service.......

I certainly hope so, but at this point Trump still has overwhelming support among Republicans. Unless that changes, the consequences for the GOP establishment turning against him would be huge.

Killing Baghdadi, ending useless illegal wars. Sometimes I wonder if Trump was a fan of my buddy, Phil Ochs's "Cops Of the World.

Predictions don't get many likes here so allow me to just say like on Saturday Night Live... "aint nothin gonna happen... He gonna win again!"
