Today, Trump threatened to shoot people in the "migrant caravan" who threw stones.
Shooting to kill is exactly what Israeli soldiers have done to Palestinian civilians, journalists, even children.
It's not surprising. Benjamin Netanyahu is one of many authoritarian, fascist leaders Trump has indicated he respects and admires.
But unlike other fascist nations, Israel has a huge influence on US politics and policing, with Israel consultants playing thick and heavy as consultants for numerous police entities.
The United States has a law that Israel does not have-- Posse Comitatus-- a law passed in 1878 to prevent abuse of military power in the US.
It is one more item to add the litany of disgusting actions of Donald Trump and his team of sociopathic enablers.
Some observers believe that the soldiers will not fire. But others suggest that people on the sidelines, perhaps Oathkeepers or alt-right or white Supremacists will set the firing into motion. The risks are too high.
The people in the "migrant caravan" are mostly parents and children. The idea of assembling an army of as many as 15,000 soldiers to deal with a group of 3-4,000 people a thousand miles away would be laughable if it were not such an egregious politicization of the military.
