I am opposing a social order in which it is possible for one man who does absolutely nothing that is useful to amass a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars, while millions of men and women who work all the days of their lives secure barely enough for a wretched existence. ~~~Eugene V. Debs

If the Dow Jones goes up or down it doesn't affect those at the bottom. The only ones that are affected are the 1%. They live off of the workers. Capitalism fails because it is all about making money. There is no concern for the workers. If we are going to reform society we need to adopt a WORKER focused economy. We need to adopt TRUE socialism. And no, the Soviet Union was not socialist. They called themselves that, but in reality they never were, after the exile of Trotsky and the death of Lenin. I'm not talking about the old Soviet Union or Red China (both dictatorships) but we need to go back to Marx' and Engels' original ideas of the producers controlling the production, not the 1% who actually produce nothing!

Socialism is the only answer to society's ills. The workers must seize the means of production for the benefit of ALL society,  not the top 1% who actually create NOTHING!

Karl Marx was correct. The "upper" privileged class (or those who control the workers,) known as the one percent, suck society dry. The workers are kept poor and uneducated so they can't rise up against their masters. The one percenters use racism, sexism and classism to keep the workers in their place. When the workers of the world rise up against their "bosses" we will have a true revolution in world society and build a better future for all!

EDUCATION is our first priority. We must find a way to educate the "masses" about the liberating nature of TRUE socialism. The revolution begins in the classroom. Marx said: "The task is not just to understand the world but to change it." It indeed begins with education!

If our government WAS socialist, we would have a better society. Capitalism has ruined America and no Republican or Democratic, past or present administrations has corrected this course. Only a revolution, be it in the streets or at the ballot box, will win the day! Only when the workers rise up and seize the means of production we will have a better society! Only then will we have a fair society!

Eugene Debs, that great American Socialist hero said, "The most heroic word in all languages is revolution."

End Note: About the Democratic Party

I once considered myself a Liberal Democrat. I was willing to work INSIDE the Democratic Party. I have now stopped working with the Democratic Party. No more. I unabashedly proclaim myself a Socialist and as such I will still support and help PROGRESSIVE candidates ...I just won't help or donate to the Democratic Party. They support neo-conservative candidates. The Republicans and the Democrats have become different wings of the same Party.
