Thomas Friedman's op-ed in the New York Times titled "Czar Putin's Next Move" (January 28, 2015 HERE ) is a good example of why so many people are fed up and disgusted with the main stream media.

Friedman's own words are so hyperbolically over-the-top that even he could not possibly believe them, as he even admits. He says that he now agrees with Hillary Clinton's comparison of "Czar Putin" to Hitler (HERE ) , but only for "shock value".

Friedman says he wants to shock people to draw their attention to all the awful things Putin is doing. If "Czar Putin" is really doing so many awful things, as Friedman says, then why does he need to make something up for shock value? "..because that is all he can come up with.

And what are all those awful things that Friedman says "Czar Putin" is doing? Friedman says "Czar Putin" is covertly invading Ukraine. "Czar Putin" must be so good at covert invasions that nobody has any evidence of one. But Friedman doesn't need evidence.

All Friedman needs to do is to parrot the White House and the State Department. That is the low to which the Fourth Estate, freedom of the press and Thomas Friedman now stoop. For sources they point to social media and Kiev's self-serving statements. With Facebook, we apparently don't need 16 intelligence agencies and an independent press anymore.

What frightens "Czar Putin", according to Friedman, is that Ukraine might be turned into a European paradise of democracy, honesty and "European values". That, according to Friedman, might make "Czar Putin's" Russian people aspire to "European Values" one day themselves. So Friedman says, "Czar Putin" wants to destroy Ukraine's "reform movement" so that he can keep the Russian people in the dark.

Friedman thinks that "Czar Putin" is afraid that Kiev's anti-corruption movement might undo his own "kleptocracy". Yes, the famous US-Kiev anti-corruption campaign in Ukraine. He must be referring to the anti-corruption campaign that put Joe Biden's boy Hunter on the board of directors of the largest gas company in Ukraine.

In order for Hunter Biden to get the IMF loans to develop Ukraine's natural gas and enrich the Biden family, Kiev is going to have to "pacify" Donbas first. Does anybody see any nepotism or conflict of interest?

Then there are those private hedge-fund managers such as Natalie Jaresko who are getting Ukrainian citizenship and lucrative appointments to Ukraine government positions. (HERE )

Friedman has the audacity to remind the American people of Iraq. While "Ukraine matters", says Friedman, he is concerned that "it is still not clear that most of our allies in the war against ISIS share our values". Not to worry Mr. Friedman, maybe our "partners" just haven't seen American Sniper yet....or maybe they have.

Friedman lets fly with every possible falsehood against "Czar Putin" except the one that "Putin shot down a plane". It is very curious why that dog still doesn't bark. Could there possibly be a cover-up going on about the shoot down of Malaysian Airline Flight 17 that killed 298 people? By the time the results of any investigation of MH-17 are ever released, if they ever are, then people will have already forgotten about it in the "United States of Amnesia" (R.I.P Gore Vidal).

While Friedman can only resort to name calling and propaganda, some of us do not ignore the proof that the US supported, encouraged, funded and instigated the destabilization of an elected government in Ukraine.

The tactic of using "color revolutions" organized by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) such as the National Endowment for Democracy, the International Republican Initiative and George Soros' Open Society Foundation to destabilize governments doesn't make it any less a violation of international law, protocols and norms than when it was done covertly by the CIA.

Friedman touts propaganda and ignores the facts: Victoria Nuland's cookies (HERE ) ; John McCain's rabble rousing speeches "on behalf of the American people" at Maidan (HERE ); US tax-payer subsidized $5 billion "investment" so that Ukraine "can achieve its European aspirations" for the benefit of the "United States of Chevron" (HERE ); leaked telephone call of Nuland and U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt discuss "putting Ukraine in play" and who would take over the new government ("Yats is the guy that who's got the economic experience, the governing experience." (HERE ); Obama speeches 'jawboning' on Ukraine internal affairs (HERE ); unknown snipers shooting protesters (HERE ); dozens of people being trapped and burned to death in Odessa (HERE ); and the mountain of evidence ignored by the main stream media of civilian populations being targeted by Ukrainian armed forces and vigilantes.

While Friedman calls "Czar Putin" a "Thug" and "Hitler", it is the US-backed Kiev government that is attacking and killing its own civilians. Civilians are not "collateral" damage in Ukraine, they are the intended target. Kiev has declared war on its own people and the US is behind it.

The day after the 70th commemoration of the liberation of Auschwitz (HERE ) , Friedman uses the occasion to publish a a column cheerleading for another Holocaust in Ukraine.

The US and Kiev are engaged in a genocide. I don't use that word loosely. Genocide is "the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation". That is what is happening in Donbas.
