"System collapse is death-or a doorway to transformation and evolution," writes Sarah Drew in Gaia Codex. As I transcribe this, I hear the saying, "you've got to die to get to Heaven." Writing the term "Heaven," I think about the origin of the word, Heave, which is a variant of Eve's name. Where's God? He's in Heaven. Is God a lover or a fetus evolving in order to manifest? Ah, man emerges from woman headfirst and returns head first in marriage, sex and death!

Birth is separation from woman (Nature) while death is a return to Source. And what does it mean that a corpse is said to be pushing up daisies? It simply means that death is a living process. We turn it into a non-living process by putting ourselves within coffins and vaults. We are like the Egyptians who mummified their dead. We can't let go of ourselves. It would be best if we were scattered across the atmospheric Ocean.

How many of us in the ecstasy of making love suffer or enjoy a death, a melting away of our boundaries while letting go to the control of our ego?

The death of ecstasy in lovemaking takes us into new heights. Thus one of the new teachings inherent in the post Kali Yuga or the Dark Age is that of Love. Love is the portal to evolution, be it within the Self, or in humanity or even on a planetary scale.

Love--real, raw, sacrificial--is the guiding energy toward evolution in Gaia Codex, a sumptuous epic novel and ancient wisdom text revealed. After much suffering and loss in a dystopic near future, the main character, Lila Sophia, cries out "What more must I offer? What must I give?"

"Your identity, your heart, your life, and your death" comes her answer. Indeed, she loses all to gain All--evolution for humankind on Earth. She (and we with her) discover, "The silencing of the voice of the Goddess herself is devastating; it is no less than the rift that has torn asunder the very fabric of our human Being and the planet herself." Only by offering her voice and her life to reincarnate the Word of Gaia does she help to heal the rift.

And where does that leave us? In our world of Corporate Rule, we have become the walking dead. Interestingly, some of the folks inherent in the Native American tribe, the Kogis, saw the invading Spaniards and went into hiding in the mountains. The reason they did this was that upon seeing the Spaniards, they saw the walking dead and became afraid.

Perhaps the vampire myth of the walking dead is true of this corporate/governmental rule. Could it be we have been dead for the past 5 to 10 thousand years? Was this death seen in myths around the time of the writing of Genesis?

Is it time for us to awaken from this deathly sleep? Could it be that we are the true Sleeping Beauties knocked unconscious by Vanity, the Witch that cries into the mirror, "mirror, mirror on the wall; who is the fairest of them all."

Can we hear that witch in the speaking of people like the Koch Brothers ("Who is the richest of us all?")

Ah, yes, the Koch Brothers are indeed manifestations of the witch who becomes angry when Snow White is seen by the mirror as the fairest. In other words, Snow White, the Soul, is what is beautiful. The witch is the epitome of ugliness, ignorance, and control freaks. Thus, she puts us under the control of educational systems, media, and motivations to shop till you drop. These tactics are meant to mesmerize and hypnotize. Thus we have become the walking dead. We are Sleeping Beauty. What we need is the kiss of Love to awaken us.

What Lila Sophia needs to do in Gaia Codex is to offer herself up to the kiss of Theo, the Green Man. "SOPHIA, WAKE UP, love," he calls to her. She awakens, pregnant with a new humanity, fulfilling the Gaia Codex declaration: "Our women's wombs are not only for birthing children, but also for birthing new worlds."

Can we see our lives in these stories? Myth is not something that is peculiar to certain tribes and sects. Myth is our--story more so than history (his-story, meaning the Man).

As I write this, I think of the heading of Drew's chapter 48. It says: "What is another person but a part of our Soul we have yet to meet?" Yes, even the Koch Brothers need to be seen as a part of our Soul. It is time to own this and transcend it. The Koch Brothers will dissolve when WE change.

Ah, the Vampires, the sucker of the blood of the Maiden, are you and I. AND, each one of us is also the Maiden in our depths. She is none other than our true Nature, our Soul. When the Sleeping Beauty awakens in you, be you a man or a woman, the flowers will bloom once again. Perhaps they will be a different species, but they will bloom. Meanwhile, the vampire will lose his power and ultimately succumb to Love.
