The King's Speech is a superb movie-- acting, script, sets, constumes... Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter play their roles brilliantly and spellbindlingly.

It's a serious movie that filled the big theater where usually fantasy and violence get that venue. And it filled it on Christmas afternoon, when the theater parking lot was mostly empty.

This movie is going to win big. It really makes one think how one person can make a difference. And makes one wonder who is the person in Obama's "castle" who is empowering and guiding him.

Watching the movie made me think of Wendell Potter's book Deadly Spin. It tells how PR-- public relations-- is used to produce huge effects on laws, policy, even presidents. In a way, the movie is the story of the re-invention of King George the 6th by an expert on speech problems.

You don't have to go too far to think of the likes of Lakoff and Luntz. No, this is not the same. This story is about an impaired leader who puts himself into the hands of an expert to help him become effective in gaining the people's trust and love. It's amazing what a powerful leader can do when he has that.

You do not want to miss this movie One way or another, see it. it's going to win gold.
