seat at the table...

Most people can relate to sitting at the children's table or at a secondary table in a corner during a holiday because there just was enough seats at the grown up table.
As a child, we all wanted to sit at the main table, share in the conversations with the adults and be closer to the food. As we mature and grow up, many adults still have difficulty seeing their children as an adult or they still try to impose their thoughts and beliefs on their children.
Similarly, many countries have had to sit at the secondary table because they were categorizes 2nd or 3rd World countries at some point in the past 40 years. As the countries matured and became more global, many of the established economies (countries) still view and see these countries as what they were 40 years ago.
With the advent of the Information Age, many countries caught up and some surpassed the largest economies. Many received a boost relating to the Global Free Trade Agreements that were signed over the past 30 years (since NAFTA).
Today, we can no longer view countries like children. They are thriving economies, with beautiful cultures, heritages and beliefs. It is time to get a new and bigger table, so everyone has a seat at the main table and has an equal voice.
------------------
As our politicians evaluate the new Iran deal, they need to see past their religious bias, their negative views of years past and seek win-win scenarios with all countries. We need to think globally; NOT as the patriarch of the family, but as another member of the family with an equal voice.
If we put in controls to ensure a nuclear bomb cannot be created, then it is a win-win. What else can we do?

Or is this more about Religious Bias, Oil, and control?
