ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria
Chaos is once again descending on Iraq with the radical, Sunni Islamic jihadists known as ISIS, the Islamist State in Iraq and Syria apparently taking over Mosul, Iraq's second largest city some 220 miles north of Baghdad and yesterday Baquba was attacked just 44 miles north of the capital. All this after ISIS took over Fallujah six months ago as well as other smaller towns in Sunni populated areas of Iraq.
In response President Obama has dispatched an aircraft carrier operating in the Persian Gulf closer to Iraq and is considering air strikes to halt the advance of the Sunni militant extremists.
As to ISIS it has proven to be more extreme than the descendents of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda which the latter has denounced for not leaving Syria and leaving its affiliate the al Nusra Front to fight against Bashar Assad's government.
So along with their rampaging in Iraq, ISIS has become the primary insurgent group in Syria vastly outnumbering the indigenous Syrian Sunni's that began protesting and then fighting against Assad in 2011. ISIS is purportedly the group behind the serin gas attacks that killed 1400 innocents in 2013-which the US falsely accused Assad as the perpetrator- but subsequent investigation of the serin casualties showed the serin gas used didn't match the gas in Assad's stock of chemical weapons.
ISIS has made its intentions known seeking to join Sunni dominated areas of Iraq and Syria into a Muslim Caliphate governed state under extreme Sharia Law which the indigenous Sunni's of both countries reject and was a cause that created the Sunni uprising against their radical Sunni outsiders that began in 2006, later co-opted by General David Patreous and portrayed as the American "surge".
So not only are the majority Sunni's in Syria and minority Sunni's in Iraq fighting to oppose their Shiite led governments, al Maliki in Iraq and Assad's Alawite sect a branch of Shiism in Syria, the indigenous Sunni peoples are having to defend themselves against the foreign Sunni jihadists in their midst's which began of course after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and Syria against Assad in 2011.
But the key element in all the current mayhem roiling in Iraq and Syria goes back to George Bush's misadventure invading Iraq in 2003, which was the primary catalyst that spawned the chaos we're witnessing now.
All these ultra extremist Sunni jihadists weren't in these countries before Bush's invasion and occupation, certainly not Iraq under Saddam Hussein who was a bitter opponent of Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda jihadists.
Assad for all his oppression against the majority Sunni's in Syria was never as brutal as the ISIS radicals that kill with impunity, Sunni and Shiite alike.
So again ALL the current mayhem in Iraq and Syria needs to be placed squarely at the feet of the of the US government whose policies and actions-taking on the neo-con playbook of regime change in the Middle East-has brought about this madness now metastasized into ISIS.
In fact Muslim terrorism should be seen as a wholly owned US creation resulting from US actions and policies that began with the CIA led coup in Iran in 1953 and the overthrow of the legitimately elected government. This was the seminal event behind the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran and the subsequent Iranian revolution in 1979. The CIA led coup in 1953 was never forgotten or forgiven by the Iranian people. But of course Iran has been demonized since the embassy takeover in '79 by the propaganda duo of the US government megaphone and its compliant hand maiden the so called independent main stream media.
So sowing chaos worldwide has been and is a US government specialty outwardly or clandestinely for over 60 years. The idea is to create instability, maybe send in a few agent-provocateurs to stir up the opposition, initiate violent protests, stir up sectarian and ethnic hatreds, assassinate leaders, initiate coups, invade and occupy, or perpetrate "false flag" operations-as in the Tonkin Gulf incident that never happened but was the reason for President Lyndon Johnson to escalate the war in Viet Nam in 1965.
All these illegal actions should be seen as the real intentions of the US government that hides behind the cloak of "democracy", the Constitution and the rule of law which is nothing but a hoax perpetrated on the gullible American people and apparently believed by most of them. But now peoples in the world that have suffered US government interference, brutality, war and occupation, surveillance and proxy wars et al know the truth about the sinister nature of US government intentions.
