The Iranian communist party, KGB and my family (1943-1953)
This article is about the Iranian communist party (Tudeh party) and the dirty work of cold war. There is a very important component which has been omitted. That is the story of operation Ajax, or the CIA/MI6 coup in Iran in 1953. That article is already written and will be published by the end of next week. Operation Ajax is quite important and mixing it with this article would have made it too lengthy and confusing.
The Boy who ate Ice Cream with the king
"Oh, he is doing so well now; he is having ice cream with the king" is a famous proverb that we use in Iran When someone becomes rich and famous quickly. portions of this article involve events which took place before I was born, my father and my uncle were involved in some of them. My references to Mr. Sadeghian, are actually references to my uncle, just to assist with writing of the article. Mr. Sadeghian was a self made multimillionaire who did a lot for the country behind the scenes.
We were very different people .All of my family were monarchist and I was not. However, Mr. Sadeghian trusted me to a few secrets of the cold war that I was to write in twenty years. The twenty years are up and I can share some of those events with OEN readers for the sake of history.

The brutal system of Reza Shah had suppressed all liberal activities in Iran.General Airom one of the founders of the modern police state in Iran, Political prisons, people jailed for their thought or pure suspicion, honorable people who died in the hands of animals like General Airom
The soviets after several attempts were able to get two nucleolus of the communist party planted in Iran, One was civilian and other was in the army. When the British informed Reza shah of the existence of the communist party in Iran, Reza Shah sent his chief of police after them.
Sar Pas Mokhtari Arrested tortured and killed to please Reza Shah. Ironically, he was in office when the allied forces invaded Iran. Mokhtari was tried and hanged.
Mokhtari was able to arrest the main two spies working for the USSR in charge of this operation. They were:
1) Shoreshian, who was not that important
2) Kambakhsh, who was one of the main characters of this story for several decades.
Under interrogation, Kambakhsh sold out the civilian cell easily. This tactic prevented him from being tortured and he was able to keep the army cell untouched. The civilian group which was known as the 53 people were put together and led by Dr. Taghi Arani, who was in contact with Kambakhsh. Dr. Arani was an ardent communist who was very respected by his followers. Once the members of the group were interrogated and taken to court, Dr. Arani was killed, but the group of 53 stayed together in Jail, they were mostly well-educated students who had been exposed to the ideas of Dr. Arani.
