DA DEECH AND PAOLO/SODADE

This is a song collaged by Amelia Hawkins. The lyrics are partially from a poem her father wrote (me), " Da-Deetch and Paolo" combined with lyrics from a song by Cesa'ria Ã"degreesvora titled, "Sodade." Amelia is on guitar and singing.

Quem mostra' bo Ess caminho longe? Quem mostra' bo Ess caminho longe? Ess caminho Pa Sao Tome' Sodade, sodade, sodade Dess nha terra Sao Nicolau It's night time in Sao Joao in Porto I circle the holy pyres I call her name as in a trance I call her name to dance, to dance A coladeira [Chorus] I hit the road I hit the drink I got away, with time to think I found a ship I hit the sea I conjured up, infinity Sodade, sodade, sodade Dess nha terra Sao Nicolau I sailed for years on past the isles Silent greens and native smiles But not her smile and not her dance I call her name as in a trance I'm cold and empty and all alone My heart is turning into stone [Chorus] Sodade, sodade, sodade Dess nha terra Sao Nicolau Si bo 'screve' me 'M ta 'screve be Si bo 'squece me 'M ta 'squece be Ate' dia Qui bo voltà [Chorus] I hit a rock I'm wrecked, I'm breached I swim and crawl up on the beach I look up in wonder and see Da Deech Da Deech Da Deech
