I'm sick and tired of
icans for all that is wrong in Washington today.
Republicans are just being republicans. They don't even pretend to be sane. They speak with true conviction on matters that to the rest of the country seem illogical but it isn't invisible. They don't even hide their bigotry and are unafraid of how their words and actions might appear to voters of sound mind.
Democrats on the other hand are dispassionate jellyfish even in situations with the majority of voters behind them. They fight for nothing. They pretend to be powerless in dealing with craziness of the republicans in congress. Its nonsense.
The next time a democrat claims he/she can't even try to fight for a cause because the republicans will filibuster it remember who is in charge in congress.
DEMOCRAT Majority leader Harry Reid has had many opportunities to combat the reckless use of filibusters by republicans. With each congressional election he has the ability to remove the filibuster from the republican obstruction tool box. He could dramatically reduce the ability of filibuster obstruction simply by enforcing rules about filibuster procedure.
The rules state that a filibuster requires the presence of persons wielding it to argue their case for obstruction until others are convinced to join and continue the argument or they get exhausted and give up. This is no easy task which is intended to keep congress from filibustering anything they don't completely agree with.
For Harry Reid, changing of the rules would not even be perceived as unreasonable to anyone (except die-hard obstructionists) as we are all fed up with the obstruction to important legislation. He could remove this problem if he wished. He does not.
So, each time you hear a democrat blame the filibuster for keeping them from doing what their constituants want, remember this; it is the Democrats currently in majority in the Senate. Democrats have not only allowed the ridiculous use of the filibuster to continue, but have actually made it easier for Republicans to use it over and over with nothing more than a threat. Simply threatening filibuster is all that is necessary in this democrat-controlled senate to stop any legislation they do not approve.
Reid doesn't even require them to argue the case whatsoever. You say filibuster, cause gets dropped. What I wouldn't give for a spineless boss like him.
While the craziness of republicans can seem impossible to understand, at least you can see them coming. Democrat politicians hide their true intentions and once they are revealed, they blame someone else for having forced them into the position. That is far more dangerous to America than any crazy filibuster-happy republican.
Remember what we thought we were getting in electing Obama? The peace prize winning democrat currently in office? Accountability for war crimes, torturers, and fraudulent bankers. Repealing of Patriot Act and restoration of our constitution. The end of false wars that eat so much of the budget we can't feed or educate American children. Infrastructure for our safety and reduction in unemployment. Remember?
Somehow we end up with a regime change warmonger with kill lists and indefinite detention, thought crime, debtors prison, police state mass surveillance, and tanks in the streets to stop Americans with signs from addressing their grievance with government.
What we have is an absolute abomination to all who have died for our constitutional protection.
I don't know about you but I prefer to know my enemy.
