So disappointed for Marianne. She did so well and then ended with such a frustrated housewife harangue.

Bernie was at his best.

Elizabeth was good.

Klobuchar inspired some amount of stability amid all of the emotionalism.

The others are a blur of aspiring men I'd have to

see interviewed one on one.

Warren spoke very well -- borrowing a lot of her ideas from Bernie.

John Delaney wins the contest for having the funniest facial expressions. He should be on Saturday Night Live, or on a kids' TV show.

I really hated how the MSNBC pundits hammered liz and Bern especially about health care. I heard tim ryan say he didnt hear how they will pay for it. Not o e mention of the current cost that will be at least 36 trillion over the next 10 years if nothing is changed. Id gladly trade my private employer health care for a plan with no fees These fees are already exorbinnate for most americans copays deductibles your premium at work. It wlll be unaffordable. The empoyers pay about 10000 a year per employee. So we turn that into an emplyer contribution which will be less and far more stable. Also every citizen contributes according to income and the rest comes from not different than now. Savings of about 6 trillion because of admin cost savings. Its so stupid. They shouldnt be allowed to mislead. We need universal health care. Our politics and meadia disgust me with bad information. No its worse they were making fun of it. It really is amazing considering i've seen these same people give good explanations and interviews that explain it Shame on them. Thats worse than trump.

Allowing for the very short time allowed by CNN for "responses" each candidate "called upon" put forth their "pitch", as if once taking office, each one could get it "all done" - but then, there's 'ole reliable Republican stalwart McConnell (tells Obama - "You Will Not Fill This Supreme Court Vacancy") and the Republicans "ready, willing, and able" (even in a "minority" or "majority" in Congress) to stifle each and every Democrat "initiative" unless, perhaps, the American people give the Democrat "the nod" with a super Democrat majority in congress as well - then the Democrats just "can't do that", "it's too expensive" (e.g., Obama's health care for all Americans "just like congress has") when it comes to serving (e.g., #MonetaryReform - America is "carrying" over 22 trillion in #NationalDebt in lieu of becoming a "fiscally sound" nation with a "surplus budget" and an admired, powerful "debt-free currency") the American people. #GoodbyeMiddleClass.

I'm beginning to get the impression some of these wannabes are in reality nothing but "plants" to attempt to eliminate Sanders. They seem to have adopted the Republican talking points against Medicare for All like making health insurance illegal, taking health insurance away from people who want it, etc. Not hearing Sanders telling them nothing is being taken away, in fact, all people will be getting better healthcare and at a lower cost to them.

As far as taxes going up we don't know, but using an example I am aware of the Medicare Advantage for a couple runs about $500/month or $6000 annual. As the 7th month of this year draws to a close the couple has spent an additional $6500 with the deductibles and co-pays making the annual expense thus far of $12,500 with five months to go. I dare say the taxes will not increase $12,500 so the couple would actually come out pretty much ahead. I dare say that would be the case for a majority of families as well, especially if there is someone in the family with M.S., heart disease, diabetes, etc.

As for those under union health plans who lose their job. More than likely that "cream benefit" just soured so not only is the worker out of a job but in need of health coverage for is/her family.

Is Medicare for all a pipedream? Not if we prosecute these lobbyists for bribery and prosecute the legislator for accepting a bribe. After all, let's start calling a spade a spade.

And all of those deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, etc start all over again on Jan 1, 2020 and every year thereafter. It's the greatest legalized racket ever devised.

Don't have cable so couldn't watch it, but in the clips I've seen, Bernie and Warren killed it. Warren's response to Delaney's Republicrat cowardice was perfect.

Had to go to CNN, on line, or somehow to see the show. And...they had commercials.

Where's the outrage or even comments that such things aren't on "PUBLIC" radio or TV....or even regular stations or channels?

I've seen that one, Janet. I love it. Another favorite of mine is, "What if they gave an election and nobody came."

Marianne was right to zero in on getting the money out of politics. She did a good job calling them out on it.

Considering that our government policies never really change significantly from one administration to the next, it seems futile to participate in this charade. And also considering that we have those elites, cabal, deep state whatever you want to call them, behind the scenes to keep each administration in line, we never get anywhere. Not to mention the absolute control the media has on everything. I can hardly stand to watch those talking head moderators manipulate these debates. I say bring back the League of Women Voters to do the debates and maybe we'd see some fairness and some real questions being asked. And maybe we could include third parties too, finally! But that's wishful thinking.

Why is it that these politicians don't do something about this electoral system?

You'd think they'd be as disgusted with it as we are. I suppose it's really just all about the money.

I was a rank and file State program analyst for 20 yrs. Never wanted to go a bit higher on the ladder.

I can assure you that staff cared a heck of a lot more about the people we were sworn to serve, and fought harder for them than any politician or upper mgr.

I genuinely wonder what we need politicians for. Let the program administrators manage the people's programs. If we need change we'll phone the guys up and they can vote from their poolsides. Salary $5,000 a year and no perks or insider trading.

I'm being facetious, but really?

What good are they except for themselves? (This question is not facetious) :)

Just a reminder. All major news networks are now owned by Republican billionaires, radio,tv ,and most newspapers so if you are expecting fair treatment for real progressives like Bernie and Elizabeth forget it.More then ever it will take foot soilders on the ground to combat the news media which is the only way people will hear abo ut progressive candidates.

they are so desperate to get the shill biden into office they are forcing the old coot down everybody 's throat. typical pravda-cnn crap.Harris is aggressive, obnoxious, a bully and wrong on every single issue. f96k her.

I'm not interested in corporate controlled "debates" so I didn't watch. If third party candidates are allowed in the presidential debates, I'll watch, but not before.

They're insulting our intelligence with these charades put on by corporate owned media with no independent press.

Lois, I agree with you to a point, but you need to watch to see what each candidates focus points are and decide if that candidate is someone that you would trust to be President.

My two cents:

So far Bernie is by far the best choice because he has a real world complete and comprehensive plan to turn this country around. Bernie also has forty years of proving that he fights for what is best for the majority of the People and for this country.

I like Elizabeth Warren a LOT, but I watched her when she read Big Pharma scripted answers during a congressional hearing, I think on vaccines, several years ago. I had watched her speak many times, and when she speaks from the heart I listen, but during the hearing you could tell the answers that she spoke on that day were were not hers, she was just saying what she was told to say. Watching this told me that she was owned by Big Pharma, and although I really like her when she is herself, I am concerned that if she were to become President she may be forced to follow the bidding of those that have donated heavily to her during her election campaigns.

Tulsi Gabbard will make a great President one day, but she needs more 'seasoning' and experience first, the kind of seasoning and experience that she will receive from four years as Bernie's Vice President. Tulsi Gabbard will make a GREAT followup to Bernie's Presidency!!!

Now see that is the core problem. at least in the US population only 20% want to know the truth about anything if it is uncomfortable. american optimism is in fact american delusion. if the people are so lazy and stupid and apathetic as all that they are getting the abusive government they deserve.

After 9/11, the #truth "got brushed aside"- Gabbard may "refresh our memories", "we all were lied to", she said of W Bush's Iraq War, but Gabbard, nor any of the Democrat Candidates for President or Trump are calling for bringing W Bush to justice under our laws and treaties (e.g. #NurembergPrinciples - #NurembergCrimes). Nothing mentioned by any of the candidates #About 911 - i.e., #OverwhelmingEvidence that "pre-planted explosives caused the destruction of the three World Trade Center buildings" - Franklin Square and Munson Fire District. Trump - "I saw this huge explosion - they had bombs that exploded almost simultaneously".

Funny....not....that not one candidate mentioned in Debate I or II that private for-profit health insurers invest Billions...with the B...into top health-damaging industries such as everyone's despised cigarette makers, and pesticides, pharms that even make tobacco pesticides and additives, fracking, oil, arms makers, nukes, coal, GMOs, junk foods, and the whole sorry rest. Not to mention that insurer investments in Pharms is a glaring conflict-of-interest.
Big Insurance is the largest investor bloc on Wall Street. Who's told, even by Single Payer advocates, about that?

No voters are asked by candidates...even Bernie...if they approve of this.

The US would have a public health system....as in developed countries elsewhere....if only the US didn't contain, and uber-alles serve, Wall Street.

I have a question regarding Medicare for all. It would be my understanding that should a person be injured and need care they would go to the ER or doctor depending on the injury. What if this injury occurred on the job, would Medicare for all eliminate the need for worker compensation costs for the employer? If that is so why aren't corporations hollering for Medicare for all as this would eliminate a huge expense for the employer along with the lack of having the costs of a benefits package for employees?

How many times did CNN deny basic accounting principals saying "Democrats are raising taxes..." even AFTER it was explained that the net cost of healthcare under single-payer is about half the cost of our current for-profit system? Note that they didn't even acknowledge the answers, they just repeated "Democrats are raising taxes...." over, and over and over. Half-truths are just full blown lies.

It's sad when common sense is ignored in a media owned of, by and for the wealthy. Poor people don't own the media, but we understand deception. THIS is why tRump gets cheers when he attacks the media.

Don't forget who pays the bills for CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc. and most of the commentators (aka propagandists) are millionaires.

Also, remember Phil Donahue whose program was one of the most viewed on MSNBC was fired for being against the Iraq war, as was Jessie Ventura. Ed Schultz was fired because he backed Bernie in 2016.

I'm concerned for Tucker Carlson on Fox as he appears to be having Tulsi Gabbard on lately while the entire media propaganda machine is silencing her out primarily because she wants to stop these illegal invasions (they call them war) and the MIC is pays these networks well to keep their gravy train running.

What's viewed by the MSM pundits as "crazy left wing ideas" vary widely in actual craziness. Free or almost free public college existed in NY State and probably other states for many decades (City University of New York was free up until 1976). "Socialized medicine" exists in every "first world" country save for the US. But reparations for slavery? Open or decriminalized borders? Seems as if they are cruising for a losing battle with and sliming by the right. Also, eliminating ICE should always be explained in the context of the post-9/11 DHS power grab, not a call for "open borders".

In reference to the MSM and their manipulating of the debates and in their efforts to smear Tulsi after her exposure of Kamala Harris, apparently the Twitter bots tried some nasty stuff afterwards. Read what Catilin Johnstone has to say:
