Say Goodbye to TV Land

I physically removed my TV from my house.

I have determined it to be a brainwashing tool and don't want it in my house
anymore. I just couldn't handle it anymore.

I feel much better, even after just 24 hours..... Source: Above Top Secret.com forum

I applaud this person's attempt to free himself from corporate brainwashing.

TV reality is an illusion created by corporate culture for maximum manipulation and control.

It works very well.

Every 15 or so minutes out of every hour the viewer is bombarded with images and sounds that paint a reality in which need is created and the quick satisfaction of want, desire, and even greed promise to bring happiness and joy.

In TV reality, the world is one big happy place of consumption. If there is no consumption then there can be no happiness. Material is the ultimate joy, and the more we have of it the more joy we can attain. We need to eat more, drive more, buy more, take more drugs, and look more beautiful doing it all.

We have bought all of this, and in the process, we have degraded our consciousness. In a sense, we have destroyed our minds for a Big Mac.

TV reality deals with problems, but they are illusory problems created to sell a product. Your shirts and teeth aren't white enough; your cell phone doesn't have maximum coverage and there aren't enough gadgets; your snacks aren't satisfying; your drink isn't exciting enough.

The fact that our mindless consumption to create a TV world in our own lives is killing the planet is never discussed in TV land - not on the corporate controlled TV news outlets and certainly not in the entertainment or in the advertising.

The news offered us in TV land is a steady diet of violence and political gossip. The real causes for the wars, poverty, joblessness, environmental degradation, lack of democracy, and a whole list of societal ills are never discussed by the empty suits and skirts that smile as they read and mislead.

Television has contributed to the inability of people to think rationally. People want the solutions presented to them, but in a way that will make them proud of themselves and happy with their lives. Our minds have become a vast waste lands, and this consumerist consciousness is turning the planet into a vast wasteland.

Those of us that take action against TV mindlessness and the cult of consumption are labeled as anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-Business. If we take to the streets to call attention to the inanity and insanity of the TV sanctioned wars, politics, and societal and economic injustice, we are thought to be terrorist sympathizers, or perhaps even terrorists.

Indeed, terrorist laws are in place to bypass any fundamental rights people have. Those that struggle against TV land and the TV propaganda that is killing the planet and has killed well over a million Iraqis and Afghans, are subject to being arrested as terrorists.

We are a people not only enslaved by credit economics but by a TV mentality. Most of us can't even consider any other way than what is presented as the Way to happiness through consumption. We have grown fat and stupid by the TV sanctioned junk food that we eat. Our minds are so distorted by the lack of nutrition found in our food that we need to supplement and support the distortion by the TV sanctioned drugs.
