We American voters and taxpayers are responsible for electing Republican and Democratic officials (our RDOs) who approved payment for and ordered military operations that bombed Lybia's ruler Muamar Qaddafi's home and killed his daughter (1988.) Our RDOs funded bombing of the Shifa pharmaceutical plant in the Sudan (1998). Saddam Hussein made a terrible mistake of aggressing against the Kuwait monarchy, killing maybe 1,600 Kuwaitis. Then (under Bush 41) our RDOs invaded Iraq, killing maybe 20,000 to 35,000 Iraqis. They followed that up with sanctions that were the initiating (but not the only) cause estimated to have caused 400,000 to 500,000 excess deaths among Iraqi children. After 9/11, directed by Bush 43, our RDOs directed us to invade and destroy the nation of Iraq, killing an estimated 110,000 to 1,000,000 Sunni and Shia, all innocent of having WMD and of conspiring with bin Laden. Martians didn't do it. This is our bad; our very very bad.

"Islamic Terrorism" is understandable (not "justifiable") revenge! The U.S. must protect our citizens at home. But "preemption" abroad is just retaliatory aggression for revenge attacks! We should tell Republican and Democratic parties: we will boycott you, not vote for any of your candidates, unless they pledge to re-institute a policy like the Cold War policy of Disengagement. The policy must be: cease all fire in the Middle East. Get all our "infidel" troops out of Muslim lands. Disengage all our support for both Israel and Palestine. Stop meddling in the Middle East!
