Robert "LaVoy" Finicum would probably be alive today if law enforcement hadn't treated the The Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupiers like quirky white guys. They should have been treated like terrorists from the beginning and had so much tear gas and pain rained on them that they would have been begging for their mammas. However, by treating them like quirky white guys one of them will be laid in the cold, cold ground. If I were the family of Robert Finicum I would be very angry with my government today -- he was crazy, a danger to himself and others, and the government simply treated him like a quirky white guy. We have become very tolerant of quirky white guys lately.
Donald Trump, Ted Cruz et al. are just as much a danger to themselves and others as Robert Finicum. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz et al. have occupied the collective Right Wing Conservative Mind. They should have been smoked out long ago. This is not going to end well -- just like the Oregon thing. By treating Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, et al. like quirky white guys we have made it fashionable to be a quirky white guy. However there are quirky white guys and there are quirky white guys.
I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to steal the right of women to control their bodies with dignity. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to arm every crazy fool in the country. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to turn our educational system into a cesspool of corrupt ideology and lies. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to antagonize the entire rest of the world, some with nuclear weapons, because I love John Wayne. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to pretend that Jesus Christ was a Navy Seal. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to euthanize Mexicans and Muslims. I'm a quirky white guy but I don't want to foul every inch of the planet so that we can continue to foul the planet so that we can have "The American Dream." I'm a quirky white guy but...
This country has lost its way and if we don't turn it around, one day some will make sad pilgrimages to the grave of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, "The First Casualty in the Sectional War for the soul of America."
