The former Governor of
Illinois Rod Blagojevich has made no secret that he thinks he was
targeted for his pro-union stances and his work for the people.
He may in fact be right.
As a few may recall, the former governor
had suspended Illinois business with the Bank of America for it's brutal
and unethical handling of a factory closing in the state. This was
right about the time of the collapse of the economy and the first
trillion(s) dollar bailouts. Blagojevich berated the Bank of America and
the Big Banksters for taking taxpayer bail out money while taking
advantage of workers.
Soon after Blagojevich was embroiled in
Being a coincidence theorist (conspiracy's don't
exist in the US), I find it highly coincidental that Blagojevich and
former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer were both taken out when they
could have done the most good against the banksters and Wall Street
corruption. Both Governors had a history of taking on corporate
interests. Spitzer, as we all should know, was a champion against
corporate fraud and soon after he was outed for having sex with
prostitutes. It is funny that he should have to leave the office for
that offense when nearly every other politician (except Spitzer)
prostituted themselves to corporate and financial interests.
it may be that Blagojevich, unlike Spitzer, was prostituting his
office. But if he didn't then he would be one of the few politicians
that have not acted in this manner.
According to CBS News the former Governor has now decided to try to get President Obama to testify in court in his defense when his trial for corruption charges come up in June.
Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty in the charges that he
was selling the Illinois Senate seat to the highest bidder. Now he
wants President Obama to testify about the Obama Administration's
involvement in making deals for that Senate seat.
The labor union official is
expected to be a prosecution witness, so Blagojevich's defense team
wants Mr. Obama to act as a corroborating witness for the former
governor, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.....(Source:
It is highly unlikely that Obama will have to testify. But he should.
Political corruption is just political
business. The government is for sale to the highest bidder and most
everyone that pays attention knows that.
Once in awhile a politician comes along that has some feeling for the people and tries to act in their interests. When that happens, a lone nut gunmen comes along or a scandal emerges to remove them. This is the way things work in America.
