(OKLAHOMA CITY) In regard to the general election it seems the more the Democratic candidates pointed out the failings of the Bu$h Junta and its Oklahoma chapter of co-thugs, the more the Oklahoma voters of any party registration dug in their heels and went blood red.
How else to explain the election of GOPers such as Randy Terrill in spite of withholding information about his bankruptcy debts; Mike Christian in HD 93, who's former wife filed a police report documenting spousal abuse coupled with child endangerment; and Dana Murphy who admitted in a court deposition to forging a signature and then notarizing the forgery?
Is this the Palin effect wherein "values voters" recognized that with Palin's pregnant unwed daughter, the GOPer candidates come closer to reflecting the voters's own problems? So do these "values voters" identify with embezzlement, spousal abuse, and ethics violations? Just what would have been the contrast in "values" if that pregnancy had been in a prominent Democratic candidate's family?
And then there's the terrible abuse of religion as a wedge issue that needs a whole article of its own, which can best be summed up by the slogan now making the rounds after the anti-gay Prop 8 passed in California: "Can I vote on YOUR marriage now?"
Is there a red cloud of racism blowing on the Plains? One prominent candidate remarked at a fundraiser that he was told by a strong Democratic constituent that they couldn't vote for a black man. Though this is just one story I have to think about how strongly this voter felt to even say such a thing out loud to a candidate who is also in a minority!
In 2006, there were rumors floating about that Jenna Bu$h, one of the twins, was buying a very large piece of Paraguay as a refuge for the members of the Bu$h Junta in order to escape any extradition order for crimes committed against humanity. ( http://tinyurl.com/5rrlll )
Is Oklahoma going to be the sanctuary for the Bu$h Junta-in-exile? Is Oklahoma going to be a time machine living the years of 2000-2008 over and over in a video loop?
Judging from the election results that show McSame/Palin getting nearly 66% of the Oklahoma vote I think the Bu$h Junta would feel right at home in Oklahoma and be lots closer to Texas. Shruba's Spanish is probably pretty rusty (oxidado) by now, anyway.
