There's a new meme that younger folk are saying-- Okay boomer. I'ts a dismissive remark when a boomer says or tweets something stupid. Some boomers are taking offense.
But I have to empathize with the millenials and GenZs who are going with it. As a boomer myself, I find myself more and more embarrassed to be a boomer. Boomers are more likely to support Donald Trump, more likely to oppose impeachment, more like to support the most anti-progressive democratic primary candidates.
I was a hippy. I protested against the Viet Nam war in Washington D.C. where I was teargassed. But back then, in the late sixties and early seventies, there were plenty of people in my generation who were more into getting drunk and partying, more into become successful in corporations-- the yuppies.
So, yes, the boomer generation is a mix. And for me, it is an affliction. I see a guy my age and I grimace a bit because male boomers are the worst. This is not discrimination. It's the reality, and Bernie supporting boomer males are the exception. Boomer females lean towards female candidates. I can't blame them. They are officially senior citizens and they want to see a female president already. Again, there are exceptions, and at least the boomer women are more likely to support impeachment of Trump and Democratic candidates.
