No to Kavanaugh
The Senate hearing on Thursday, September 27, 2018, was turned into politics by the irresponsible Republicans.
Right off the bat, Senator Grassley set the tone by blaming the Democrats, "Every step of the way the Democratic side refused to participate in what should have been a bipartisan investigation."
They kept harping on destroying the family and honor of Bret Kavanaugh but completely disregarded the fact that the family and honor of Dr. Cristine Ford was damaged as well. Most of the Republican men have the propensity to consider woman's word less than a man's word.
Kavanaugh took the wrong road of being partisan attacking the Democrats and making the issue political. Would he be a Judge worthy of the Supreme Court? Will he get even with Democrats when Roe V. Wade issue was to come up?
Kavanaugh kept bringing up his excellent character, public service, and coaching basketball to the girls. All those are proper certifications of his disposition and must be acknowledged. However, the dark side of his character is not in the public domain for people to give testimonies. Only a few knew about it, at least Dr. Ford and Mark Judge.
The irresponsible Republicans did not consider upholding the honor of the Supreme Court by continuing with a man who is not cleared from the cloud hanging over him.
Diversionary tactics were at a full display by the well-rehearsed Kavanaugh, he refused to answer the questions by the Senators by quoting his record as a student, a judge, and a public servant.
Senator Graham lost his cool and said the things that he should not have said, he was equating voting for Kavanaugh with Patriotism. The truth is not essential but slam dunking Kavanaugh onto the supreme court is.
Kavanaugh kept emphasizing the committee to believe the testimony of Mark Judge, Patrick Smyth, Leland Keyser. All three submitted statements to the Senate under -- under penalty of felony, denying any knowledge of the events described by Dr. Ford. All the while, he was rejecting the testimony given by Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnik in support of Dr. Ford? What makes him think his friends' statement is superior to the others?
Kavanaugh would not answer for the FBI investigation, even though the question was repeatedly asked, what does he have to hide?
Dr. Christine Ford's testimony was sincere, compelling and intended to be factual, whereas Judge Kavanaugh's testimony was loaded with blame rather than facts. Neither of them had the corroborating evidence, it is what he says, and she says.
Kavanaugh's appointment would put a permanent stain on the credibility of our most important institution, the United States Supreme Court.
