Here are some performances with newer artists performing with long-time hit singers with a long history. Some of these performances gave me chills or made tears well in my eyes.

This duo of Dua Lipa and Elton John gave me chills. Dua Lipa is 26, Elton John is 75. I saw Elton John perform at the Electric Factory in Philly in 1969, 52 years ago, when he was the opening act for Mother Earth.

Here's Elton John inducting Leon Russell into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. Russell (he passed at 74 in 2016. John Mayer (34 in 2011) accompanies Russell on guitar. I was blessed to see him a few times at the Sellersville Theater, one of my favorite small venues. (any Philly locals, hit me up to see an act there with you.)

Bonnie Raitt Singing Angel From Montgomery, with Ruthie Foster in Austin. She dedicates the song to Molly Ivins and Anne Richards. I first heard Bonnie in 1969, on a snowy night in State College PA. There couldn't have been more than 50 people who trudged through the snow to see her that night. Since then, I've probably attended more of her concerts than any other.

No young'uns in this one but I had to include it. Billy Preston singing My Sweet Lord, at the Memorial for George Harrison, Wikipedia lists the performers: included the surviving members of the Beatles (Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr), Harrison's son Dhani Harrison, as well as musicians Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Preston, Jools Holland, Albert Lee, Sam Brown, Gary Brooker, Joe Brown, Ray Cooper, Andy Fairweather-Low, Marc Mann, Dave Bronze, Klaus Voormann, Jim Keltner and several other musicians who had appeared on Harrison's recordings over the years.[3]

I was fortunate enough to see Preston perform with Harrison before Preston passed in 2006.
