Moments after Republican Senator Susan Collins announced her backing of Brett Kavanaugh, Senate Democrat Joe Manchin made his prescheduled statement to reporters, intoning "I'm just and old West Virginia boy," while giving his Me Too in support of Kavanaugh. Certainly very different than #MeToo. A real disappointment - but no surprise!
Manchin a political realist had been having nightmares about the possibility as a Democrat he might be the deciding vote to move forward Kavanaugh's nomination. You could almost see the damp beads of sweat evaporate once Senator Collins let his vote off the hook.
In deep red Virginia he'll be more re-electable echoing President Trump's warped view of life in our great country.
Yes, white men by the thousands are being arrested on phony allegations of sexual assault. The court calendars are cluttered with these clearly fake complaints!
I'm fairly certain that soon we'll be hearing that "driving while white," is a major problem for young Caucasian males -- especially in politically red states.
Are you disgusted yet? Does it frustrate you that too many people just seem not to get it?
The ill-conceived and virtually faux FBI investigation wasn't about Kavanaugh's guilt or innocence in regard to the courageous Dr. Susan Blasey Ford's allegations of attempted rape.
It was an alleged fact finding mission (severely hampered and flawed) to explore the possibility of the truth of Dr. Ford's statement and the implications it made on Kavanaugh's character.
It wasn't designed to build evidence to indict the sitting judge on rape charges.
In the opinion of some, it might even have been a contrived plan by Republican operatives to bolster support for both Kavanaugh and the 20018 mid-term elections. Retiring Arizona Senator Jeff Flake's demand for a quick FBI investigation gave great cover to the Republicans.
The fact that Flake indicated his satisfaction with the spurious FBI report brings into question his motives for the investigation in the first place. Hailing from the conservative state of Arizona, he is now well placed for whatever his future political plans.
With the report's conclusion Senator Mitch McConnell is in a position to tell the American public that an impartial FBI investigation was held and Kavanaugh has been proven innocent.
It's all a bunch of hooey! Malarkey! Pure trash!
