I'm sure by now you've all seen my rant diary entry.   In hindsight it was the wrong way to make a point.   I should have spoken to Rob in private.   But I'm not a perfect person and sometimes my passion overtakes me.   I still stand behind what I said, however, I could have handled things better.

My question is to all of the contributors here on OEN.   Why do we accept corporate ads?   Can we walk our talk and support the site with other means?   I can't give much at the moment, but I give what I can on a monthly basis.   Why?   Because I feel this is a site that allows fresh new ideas.   I may not always agree with them, but it is a start and an alternative.    My point is there is a way for us to completely go away from corporate ads for the support of this site.   Let us all who use the site often put even a small monthly donation.   I can only afford 10.00 right now but it is something.   If everyone did this I'm sure it would help.

I'd like to see us reach out to more mom and pop businesses for ads.   Allow them to purchase advertising at a somewhat lower rate than they can usually buy on the net.   Let's support the average American.

There is a cry out today to think of the average Joe.   Let's answer that call.   Let's all walk our talk.   It's well past time to get back to basics and work to build something sustainable.

It's time for Progressives to get together and agree on a set platform with solutions to the problems we face today.   If you want to be taken seriously, you must have a set platform, solutions to the issues of today, and most importantly walk your own talk.

I will apologize to Rob, but I will not apologize for my thoughts.   Let's all walk our talk and make this site a shining example for change.
