The egg industry treats birds like paper towels. 50 million US birds have been killed so far for bird flu which the conditions they are kept in caused in the first place. The problem is presented as farmers' losses or the price of eggs.
USDA and factory farmers blame wildlife and airborne pathogens. Right. It is certainly not the unlit, ammonia-reeking barns in which birds spend their whole lives, unable to stretch their wings, move and sometimes standing on top of their dead cage mates.
