Harry Reid is the Man

Harry Reid is the Man

Against all odds, Senator Reid put sixty rascals together to force cloture before Christmas. A week ago I had e-mailed all my Progressive acquaintances that my single payer premium had raised to $24 monthly. This was my attempt to offer them some consolation. In the following article I suggest some measures that might alleviate future suffering.

Obama, the Congress and the People Failed

Obama failed to deal with the one million criminals inside the government and the three millions in the private sector who own and run everything worthwhile. When he indicted no one, they ran all over his administration. Their greed not slaked by the $billions stuffing their coffers, the legislators are content to ride the gravy train to the wrecking site. The public took a year to discover they have no say in the system. Forty-one percent think the Tea Party may offer a solution. As a first step, they'll buy an assault rifle. Since the Vietnamese, the Afghans and the Iraqis got no respect until they began to fight back, the Tea Party may be on to something.

Who Will Be the Next US Target in Asia?

The USA is a rogue beast raging out of control in Asia. The US Agencies and military have no positive idea backing up their incursions there. They act as arms promoters in a region that has no valid reason to fight anybody. My only contact has been with Yemeni Jews whose ancestors came to Israel in the 1950's. They were people straight out of the 12th century and maltreated by the authorities. They battled hard to earn the respect of everyone here. Killing Yemenis of any stripe is an abomination. I maintain that Americans show a monumental disrespect for human life. This does not bode well for their future.

Some Nations Continue Warring until They are Crushed

WWII went on until Russian tanks roared into Berlin and the US nuked Japan. They called it unconditional surrender. Egypt and Jordan sued for peace to prevent future devastation to those nations. The Cold War ended after the USSR went broke. Despite three humiliating military defeats that beggared the economy and ruined the national character, it is difficult to see how or why the US could change her course.

The Americans Scuttled the USA, not Iran

I'll never forget the look of horror and defeat on Obama's face when his henchmen acknowledged the triumph of the nihilists on healthcare. The Tea Bag Party has assumed 41% poll popularity by being the niggling nabobs of negativity. They toted guns to the meetings, but did not fire a shot.
Every child who survives into adulthood realizes that he must bloody the nose of the neighborhood bully. Countries such as Switzerland, Israel, Venezuela and Iran are street smart. The bully might have all the muscle in the world, but he fails to one hard shot to his nose.

Sadly, We Have Learned US Public Opinion Means Nothing

The public option earned a 70% approval rating, yet it failed the Senate cut. Did Richard Nixon change course during the last five years of Vietnam? Two years after the majority wanted us out of Afghanistan and Iraq, we are still there. Pakistan is hotter and Yemen begins. If the peace movement will have any future impact, it must overcome the military/industrial complex.

Most Exchange the Soul for a Living Wage

The real shock comes when the owner finds nobody is willing to buy his soul. If he is lucky, he dies quickly. If not, he joins the Tea Party. Perhaps, he can team up with a younger person who still has her employer health insurance plan. My friend Ari rented a windowless garage where he lived and worked for his final 20 years. He wrote scholarly books in German with Latin footnotes.
Pure and poor go together. Harry Reid will never bring a crowd of two millions to their feet with ringing oratory. He brought Ben Nelson into the fold with a paltry $300 millions bribe to Nebraska. Harry whipped the niggling nabobs of negativity with a single blow between the eyebrows.
