In the beginning,
Was The Word.
Then,
The sky,
The Earth,
The waters,
Life,
Man,
Even the fabled wonders,
Of Eden.
And so it was,
That God,
On the final day,
Marveling at the beauty,
Of His creation,
Smiled,
Then rested....... saying that,
It is good.
Homo sapiens,
Animals with a brain,
A mind,
A will of his own,
Thoughts,
Decisions,
Knowledge,
Science,
Technology,
Even commerce.
But then progress,
An unpardonable offense,
Say....... "the very sin of man."
Earth dislodged,
Skies smeared,
Waters fouled,
God became,
Saddened,
Ashamed,
Disgraced,
And began,
To weep,
As man,
Continued,
To climb,
His way
To the top,
Of Babel,
And crushed,
All that had,
Gone before.
Earth brown,
Skies gray,
Waters dry,
Man now gone,
Nothing was left,
But a mere remnant,
An endlessly,
Echoing silence,
Of a once,
Spoken Word!
