COVID 19 Vaccine Deep Dive: Safety, Immunity, RNA Production, (Pfizer Vaccine / Moderna Vaccine) Professor Shane Crotty, PhD joins MedCram to answer a series of COVID vaccine questions including what are the chances of long-term side effects? How safe ...

I knew there was a fierce debate at OpEdNews connected with Covid-19, how we should deal with it, and whether people ought to get vaccinated. But I thought it had essentially been settled when a respected member of the community moved on from the independent online publication. I also remember reading a long piece by Rob Kall, explaining in detail what had happened to lead up to the departure.

As a consequence of publication of my article, "DeSantis Hoisted on a Right-wing Petard," I've learned the debate continues at OpEdNews. So I'm writing this piece to give OpEdNews readers and editors the chance to read the entire email that I got Friday afternoon from the press shop at the Florida Department of Health. I quoted two paragraphs from the longer letter in my "Hoisted" article, which stated in simple, direct terms that the DeSantis administration went door to door to fight the pandemic, the Biden administration now wants to do that, and right-wing Republicans are kicking up a fuss now, apparently not knowing what DeSantis was up to in Florida.

So, below is the entire email, which shows Department of Health officials in the DeSantis administration believe the vaccines save lives. I happen to agree with them, although I concede I am not a health, medical or scientific expert. I simply trust the experts who speak to us in the media. I also trust local doctors who have assured me it is ok to get vaccinated. Of course, we do not know what will happen years from now.

But I weigh the possible long-term threat from new vaccines against statements made by mainstream experts. They are warning us that unvaccinated people comprise most of the people getting infected now due to the spread of the Delta variant. These Americans are also mostly the people who are dying, we are told. So, in a sense, the debate to me boils down to do we want to die now or die later if critics of the vaccine are right.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the full email:

Florida is in a much better place than we were before the vaccine was deployed to protect Seniors First in December of last year . We have known the entirety of this pandemic that individuals over 65 are at the highest risk of severe illness. Having 84% of individuals 65+ and 74% of those 60-64 years old vaccinated protects our residents, especially our most vulnerable.

Since vaccinations were initially available in December 2020:

  • Deaths in long-term care facilities have reduced by 97%.
  • Cases in long-term care facilities have reduced by 91%.
  • Deaths overall have reduced by 95%.
  • Cases overall have reduced by 83%.
  • Cases in individuals over 65 have decreased by 90%.
  • Deaths in individuals over 65 have decreased by 95%.

Additionally, we've implemented innovative outreach solutions as a result of the Governor's dedication to protecting Floridians.

We were the first state to initiate large-scale canvassing campaigns in Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville. Our teams knocked on nearly 1.1 million doors over a span of just three months - March, April, and May.

Through this initiative, the State of Florida vaccine-outreach teams helped answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, assist individuals identify vaccination sites near them, and pre-register individuals for vaccine appointments through this strategy. The teams also distributed more than 516,000 informational material to Floridians across the state and canvassed in more than 2,100 neighborhoods.

The Division of Emergency Management launched specific campaigns in areas that were lacking vaccine rates, particularly in minority populations. At the Governor's direction, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health identified places of worship and other locations in underserved communities to further distribute the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 169,000 vaccines were administered in partnership with places of worship.

I can't tell where your words end and the state of Florida's letter begins.

And of course, this message is contradicted by the governors behavior, words and actions.

I just sent my second email to the surgeon general of Florida. I will share it below. I hope it does a better job of explaining what I'm getting at:

Good morning, Surgeon General Rivkees,

Your communications office sent me a detailed email Friday afternoon. It outlined steps the DeSantis administration has taken and continues to take to combat the pandemic that has killed more than 600,000 of our neighbors.

Most of the information in that email was not news to me. The only new information I read centered on state outreach workers knocking on doors in March, April, and May to combat the spread of Covid-19. I didn't know the DeSantis administration was doing this. I also considered it news for two reasons.

1- The Biden administration recently announced plans for outreach workers to knock on doors across our nation to reach out to about 100 million people who remain unvaccinated. These people, experts tell us, face potential risk because of the rapidly spreading, potent Delta variant of Covid-19.

2- Right-wing politicians are stomping their feet now that President Biden wants to do what Governor DeSantis already did. These politicians, who also serve as elected leaders who make laws and run state governments, have made outrageous claims that can encourage people to remain unvaccinated. The email from your press people told me the vaccines are saving lives.

Dr. Rivkees, I'm writing to you now because I published an article in my free Substack newsletter, What's Going On. It was headlined, "Hoisted on a Right-wing Petard." I also published the piece at OpEd News, with the headline, "DeSantis Hoisted on a Right-wing Petard." Here is a link to my OpEd News effort, which raised such a storm. Article: DeSantis Hoisted on a Right-Wing Petard | OpEdNews. Please feel free to read the comments.

The reaction to my OpEd News article was fierce and swift. Readers responded by slamming liberals, and Democrats. Some also challenged the concept that people should get vaccinated. An intelligent writer, an editor at OpEd News, said he needed more information before he evaluated the Florida door-knocking outreach effort. This editor stated in a post that he has the governor's back as long as DeSantis keeps his promise to keep Florida open.

So, I am now asking you for more information. Please send me detailed information on the literature outreach workers gave to people when they knocked on their doors. If the outreach workers worked from scripts, please send me a copy of the scripts. If there is educational material that helped prepare the outreach workers for their job, please send that to me.

There is no consensus in our country about how to deal with the pandemic, or whether people should get vaccinated, or whether government workers should knock on doors to communicate with people who are not vaccinated. I now understand there may be concern about what government employees say and don't say when they go door-knocking.

I am also inviting you to answer the questions that I sent you last week about the political actions of Gov. DeSantis. A reelection PAC is selling "Don't Fauci My Florida" merchandise. What does this slogan mean? Does it help or hurt the Florida Department of Health in its effort to protect people from a deadly virus? As you must know, Dr. Facui is a leading national figure on Covid-19. Among other things, he encourages people to get vaccinated. Therefore, is it possible that the DeSantis campaign merchandise is telling some Floridians that they should not get vaccinated? Do you think the governor should pull his "Don't Fauci My Florida" reelection merchandise?

As with my initial email to you, I invite you to offer any other comments on the battle to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Thank you,

Steve Schneider

I just went into my article to modify it. I drew a line between my words and the words I got from the Florida Department of Health on Friday afternoon.

I also agree with you in this way about the contradiction between words and deeds: I believe Gov. DeSantis wears two hats. One hat reads leader of the state of Florida. The other hat reads politician. The two are at war, and mean DeSantis is Hoisted by a Right-wing Petard, in my opinion.

State employees who work for his administration went door-knocking in the Sunshine State. Public servants who work in the DeSantis administration Department of Health put in writing that the vaccines to fight Covid-19 save lives.

But DeSantis the pol, along now with Donald John Trump, and a host of right-wing "evil doers," are spreading venom to reinforce their base. These poor souls are paying the price by refusing to get vaccinated. They are much more likely to get infected, go to the hospital and die, if we can believe the MSM and the mainstream experts in the health, medical ,and scientific communities.

It is not to strong to ask, "How much blood does the Trumpian GOP want to drink?" It is fair and accurate to note that DeSantis has repeatedly told the public how much he loves Trump, a fellow Florida resident.

From my perspective, DeSantis needs to start showing spine, and leadership skills if he wants to win reelection and take over the Republican Party in time to win the 2024 nomination for president. He can start by supporting what the honorable souls in the state Health Department are doing, and saying.

We need more truth-tellers, and less grandstanding politicians who don't seem to care about the consequences of their actions. What I've just expressed is a pretty conservative notion, I believe.

Cheers!

The delta variant, several times more contagious than the original SARS-CoV-2 strain and causing higher rates of hospitalizations and deaths of young people, has elevated the risk level for covid-19 among the unvaccinated by an order of magnitude. Now, more than before, the states need to mandate vaccination to save thousands of lives.

While I strongly recommend that everyone get vaccinated I believe that mandated vaccination is akin to mandated sterilization of the mentally infirm. No one has the right to tell you what you can or should put into your own body. The government does have the right to exclude the unvaccinated from its own facilities to protect its employees and those who seek its services. Private business owners also have the right to do the same. No one has the right to force you to undergo a medical procedure merely to exist or to have your basic liberty remain unrestrained.

So requiring tetanus, typhoid, measles, mumps, polio, or small pox vaccinations is akin to mandated sterilization of the mentally infirm?

There is no legal requirement to get the vaccines. The requirement is that children must obtain those vaccinations in order to attend a government school. I already acknowledged that the government, like any other business, has the right to restrict access to protect their employees and customers.

If that is unacceptable to their parents they are free to send their children to a school that does not require them or to home school. I also think they should get a tax credit to do so.

I'd love to comment on this but I found it fruitless to argue with Covidians. The lack of evidence for any of this does not deter the push for more injections of a experimental shot. I'm convinced this is a system belief and as such cannot be rationally shaken.

Well I guess I did comment.

I suggest spending a couple hours reviewing the actual scientific literature instead of the conspiracy theory sources. You could start with The Lancet or PubMed

Dr Silver,

Since you are so well-read and have the resources, I would appreciate it if you could source controlled medical experiments, peer reviewed, that show that asymptomatic carriers of respiratory infections (such as influenza and Covid-19) spread epidemics. Specifically, controlled experiments that use animals or human volunteers. Experiments that do NOT use computer modeling and PCR tests for the results. Only "cases" or "infections" caused by asymptomatic (preferably not pre-symptomatic) carriers spreading infections that result in clinical symptoms count. Certainly over the last 100 years there have been such experiments?

Thank you.

Anyone else know of any such studies.

The title "Fierce Debate Continues Over Covid-19, and Whether People Should Be Vaccinated" stinks of vaccine denialism. Among established experts, there's no debate.

It's like the techniques of people who are paid to call into question the science behind climate change.

One who tells the truth doesn't change what they say on a given topic. Fauci has changed his words many times on masks, GOF, and more. This virus is a man-made one whose development actually started with Fauci until Obama suspended financial backing of GOF in 2014 and the Wuhan lab was "hired" to continue that research in 2015 with $600,000 funding. This research made the virus that was transmissible between animals prior now able to be transmitted between humans. One might question whether this research has caused the death of millions around the globe and who appears to be at the lead of it?

Facts prove Paul is on "truth's" side but IMHO Fauci is behind what got us here through his GOF manipulation of the coronavirus both from his work and his "hiring" of the Wuhan Lab to continue it and how this COVID has enabled the powers behind gaining a New World Order to expedite their movement Rand Paul will be made to be the "bad guy" as the bought and paid for accomplices, the MSM, will bring out their guns demonizing him. That said, also let it be known Paul has received at least five death threats.

Dear Helen

unfortunately , I am not familiar with Maddie's story . I do have a child who was born with several handicaps . I did not listen to that fathers story because it is psychologically hard for me to hear similar stories . I do feel bad for any parent who has had a sick child or if they lost one regardless of the cause.

However , do you really believe the garbage which that crazy lady was dispensing on utube . She was Trump's lawyer . Do you really recommend that nonsense or I am just mistaken .

ARS-CoV-2 like many other viruses contains genetic material called RNA. RNA fragments are so small they are difficult to detect. The PCR test doubles the fragments in what are called cycle thresholds and keeps doubling them until they have enough genetic material to identify. #RollOut.

Well, that's the theory. In fact, PCR can't be used to detect ANY clinical illness; the theory of "asymptomatic illness" itself is hooey (but a wonderful excuse for controlling the masses). Kary Mullis would be saying as much if he hadn't so conveniently died the month before 5G started rolling out. Furthermore, nobody has even isolated the "virus" yet; all they did was create a "genome" which was just a computer model. click here

Don Smith when did you stop questioning? My guess is you haven't followed the VAERS reports. 11,000 dead post injection and counting, the number are now going up 2,000 every week. And hundreds of thousands of report of harmful effects, thousands of those are hospitalizations.

Delegating your thinking to "experts" without asking yourself is any of this evidence based, is ripe for totalitarian control.

But as I said, this is a belief system, not based on evidence, certainly not hard science; NONE of it.

Did I say I know the cause? No so who does after thousands die after the injection. In mid-1970's less than 60 deaths recorded in the same system (VAERS) and the injections were halted. Medical ethics calls for precautionary principle...any new treatment cause harm or death is the cause until proven otherwise.

More people have according to the VAERS system died than all other vaccine injections prior to Dec. 2020 combined. Same system, and Harvard government paid for analysis says only about 1% of the total deaths following the injection are recorded.

If you believe that COVID-19 caused all those deaths in 2020 when none of the bodies were autopsied than why do you think it was the cause? There are serious reasons to not believe such as CDC changing the protocol for cause of death to default to COVID, the PCR is worthless at determining infection (per the inventor, major peer review and the WHO). The symptoms are primarily (according to the pharma manufacturers) are flu-like, and worse case atypical pneumonia and pneumonia. The absolute efficacy of these injections is less than 1% during the clinical trials.

People are not informed and providing consent based on that information about side effects, including death. This is a case for the Nuremberg Code.

This is an experimental (emergency use only) injection being coerced onto the public at large, with a government stated 99+% recovery.

You can't determine cause because the medical agencies have stated no autopsies for COVID or death due to injection.

The number of deaths comes under severe scrutiny on several levels. First, the PCR test that is used was never meant to be used for this purpose as we were told by Kar Mullis, the inventor of the test, who died suddenly and suspiciously shortly after making that announcement. The results of that test show anywhere from 60% to 90% "false-positive" meaning there were no signs of COVID symptoms in the individual. Second, tens of thousands of "deaths" were merely called "COVID deaths" based on nothing other than what was written on the cause of death. Few autopsies were administered. The only known fact is hospitals were paid more for COVID patients than non-COVID patients, hence you draw your conclusion. So the only sane conclusion is one can believe whichever side they want and neither is entirely wrong. Either "side" can be their own Fact-Checker and determine the other side is "misleading".

  • Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 334 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 12, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 6,079 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it's unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem. A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records, has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS, a rare and serious adverse eventblood clots with low plateletswhich has caused deaths.

Not sure where you got those numbers regarding VAERS:

"Data released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) included 463,457 reports of injuries and deaths, across all age groups, following COVID vaccines an increase of more than 25,000 compared with the previous week.

The data comes directly from reports submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S.

Every Friday, VAERS makes public all vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date, usually about a week prior to the release date. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed.

Data released today show that between Dec. 14, 2020 and July 9, 2021, a total of 463,457 total adverse events were reported to VAERS, including 10,991 deaths an increase of 1,943 over the previous week. There were 48,385 serious injuries reported during the same time period up 7,370 compared with the previous week."

And according to the Government's own Harvard produced report these numbers represent only about 1% of the total numbers, since it's estimated only 1% is actually reported.

This is crazy. How to you keep coercing people, many poor to take this jab?

You can figure just how many deaths may have occurred after the 1st or 2nd injection given the Harvard analysis....

One must ask if the CDC or WHO call for a cease against J&J or AstraZeneca for blood clots why haven't they done the same when deaths occur? That detail smells one would think.

The title conveys truth, some folk are in vaccine denialism. A fair, honest reading of my articles shows that I want people to get vaccinated to prevent infection, hospitalization, and death. Unfortunately, though, there is a debate in this country. Some people don't agree with us that the vaccines protect life, just as some people don't agree that climate change is a problem we need to deal with now.

My articles also point out the dangerous statements being made by the right-wing bomb-throwing caucus in the GOP. They are making destructive statements now that President Biden wants to reach unvaccinated people with a door-knocking campaign, the same type of campaign administered by Gov. DeSantis in Florida.

Speak of denialism. An action goes uncontested when a fellow bomb-throwing right-wing Republican does it. But the blood-thirsty GOP crowd goes wild when a Democratic president offers the same policy prescription.

Get your facts straight, Don.

"I want people to get vaccinated to prevent infection, hospitalization, and death."

You do realize this is an experimental drug. It has been little studied and I am not aware of any independent double blind studies that have been done for safety and effectiveness. The studies I am aware of have been financed and performed by the pharmaceutical companies, and they were very sloppy and unscientific.

Even less is known about the effects on pregnant women, nursing mothers, infants, children, people with co-morbidities, interaction with other drugs, etc. The long-term effects are completely unknown. That has not been scientifically studied. All we get are bureaucrats and politicians make proclamations that everybody should be vaccinated.

There were several glaring errors in the attached video. The interviewer made a statement about the ingredients in the vaccine which was incorrect, and then changed the question for Dr. Crotty. Dr. Crotty never commented on the all ingredients. He kept saying the vaccines are FDA approved, which of course they are not. He whitewashed side effects and compared them to working out in the gym. As he admitted, there was only a 2 month trial of safety and effectiveness. The data of those studies have not been made public to my knowledge, so the studies cannot be repeated by other scientists to verify the claims of effective and safety--- some of the trial participants did have very serious, life-altering effects, which there is little known publicly. To my knowledge the ingredients of the drugs have not been made public by the companies. It would be of interest to know Crotty's conflicts of interest and who finances the company he is with.

There is now the issue of mutations. There is no scientific evidence that they are being caused by the unvaccinated. Others say they are being caused by the vaccinated, similar to the way pathogens become resistant to antibiotics, especially when they are overuses, used incorrectly, and misused.

There has long been an issue of asymptomatic carriers. I have looked and cannot find any animal or human studies on asymptomatic carriers being a significant factor in spreading respiratory illnesses. Can anybody find one that does not rely on computer modeling or PCR tests? The reason I bring this up is because it is essential to the theory that lockdowns are effect, and outweigh the human and financial costs. It will be of scientific importance to compare states with hard lockdowns vs states with few or no lockdown.

Personally, I think it is the height of medical irresponsibility to give an experimental drug to the entire population of 350 million people. The EUA at most should be used for high-risk individuals. There is no known good reason to give an experimental drug to people with low risk of infection and an even lower risk of death from covid19. The long-term effects could be a disaster of untold magnitude. I hope not.

It is a basic principle codified in international law, and a basic human right that people have the right to informed consent before taking any medication and medical procedure. There are very important reasons from history as to why informed consent is so important.

People who are so adamant that the entire population should be vaccinated keep bring up Trump, Republicans, right-wing etc. The science has nothing to do with politics. Either a drug is safe and effective or it is not. The Trump vaccine is the same as the Biden vaccine. Are these people willing to take the financial responsibility for those injured by the covid19 vaccine? So far, they have been abandoned with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses. Many people who use shame against those that minimize covid19 deaths then turn around and hipocritically minimize vaccine injuries and deaths.

All drugs have side effects. Part of informed consent is the knowledge of the benefit vs the risk. Then the individual can make an informed choice. ALL of these extraordinary efforts to coerce people to take an experimental vaccine are immoral and unethical. As for doctors, they have a moral, ethical, and fiduciary responsibility to the individual patent who is in front of them, then and there. It is unethical for a doctor to recommend a vaccine to a patient to "protect society". Especially when the evidence is so weak that the covid19 vaccine is safe and effective. And what is meant by "safe and effective"?

So now we have a doctor in the comment section who is saying that people who do not want to take an experimental vaccine are mentally ill? Now I have heard everything!

Hello David,

Yes, I concede ground to all of the writers who are sharing information that contradicts what establishment experts and media are telling us. Does this mean the points you folk make are dispositive? I don't think so.

As for the experimental nature of the Pfizer vaccine, I've read that it will probably gain full approval soon. Will this cause the skeptics, the honest, intelligent people who dare to challenge established thought, that the Pfizer vaccine is now suitable for humans to take? My hunch is no. Y'all will cite other reasons to continue to challenge what we are doing. I suspect some may also challenge the process by which approval was granted!

And while I'm at it, let me make another concession that flows from sincere belief. I've read comments that attack Big Pharma. Good for the critics, the skeptics, the cynics and honest doubters amongst us who do this. I am a liberal, a political type you apparently hold in contempt. But my liberalism springs from my youth, when free speech was cherished and tolerated more than it may be nowadays.

So keep speaking your truth, but don't demand that I change my mind just because you believe I should.

I am open to all kinds of information, and thought. But here is a secret about the way my brain works, before and after I got my two jabs of the Pfizer vaccine three months ago. I understand direct information better than stuff that appears indirect to me. This is what I mean: I wrote the "Hoisted" article and the "Fierce Debate" article with a narrow frame. A number of passionate writers who are skeptical about the established order as it relates to Covid-19 vaccine started posting comments. I didn't get it initially because there was no direct reference to what I had written.

It also didn't help that Art led off his first post, in my previous article, by saying I'm committing an act of propaganda. That is bull. He didn't like the focus of my article, so he ignored it and brought it comments that in my opinion have an indirect connection to what I wrote. If Art, Helen, and you think the Florida Health Department of the DeSantis administration is wrong in what they wrote to me, have the guts to say so, and then move on to your broader themes. That's my suggestion, anyway.

Finally, one last thought. I remember learning about a drug that I think women took in the 50s or 60s. Experts said it was safe. But their babies came out disfigured. Experts are wrong some of the time!

I addressed you issue: ALL of these extraordinary efforts to coerce people to take an experimental vaccine are immoral and unethical.

My contempt is for liberals who are hypocrites and sellouts, of which there are many. I no longer have any ideology, but if one were to label me it would be an "old fashioned liberal".

Informed consent of all medical procedures is a very liberal idea. Here is what the VA says about informed consent:

"As a VA patient, you have the right to make informed decisions about your health care. This includes decisions about medical care and about mental health care. Before beginning a new treatment or procedure, your VA provider will give you information about the treatment or procedure, answer any questions you may have, and ask you if you want to go ahead with the treatment or procedure. You have the right to say yes or no. If you say yes, you are giving your "informed consent." You always have the right change your mind. If you say no to a treatment or procedure, it will not affect your future care or other benefits."

You spoke of the Thalidomide Scandal. It was not approved for use in the US. We had a much stronger regulatory environment then. Yet is was one woman who stood up against tremendous pressure and refused to approved the drug. For that she was awarded the distinguished service medal by JFK.

You may be unpleasantly surprise if you do a little research on how many FDA approved drugs were later recalled off the market because they were literally killing people. Many of the Big Pharma company, including the current covid vaccine, have been charged with felonies for falsifying test results-- killing for profit. Big Pharm has also had to pay some big settlements for civil damages. They just chalk all of it up to the cost of doing business. With vaccines they don't have any liability.

You are obsessed with this Republican/Democrat/Trump/DeSantis thing. It has nothing to do with science. But yes I am glad he kept Florida open. I think it was the right thing to do. No I don't agree with him on many things, and I was unaware of FL's door knocking campaign. If they are not fully informing people and letting them make informed consent then it is wrong.

If people want to take the vaccine then it is a personal choice, same with isolation and masks, and PCR tests, etc.

Personally, I think all vaccinations should be immediately halteduntil further research.

I am glad you are happy with your vaccine. I suggest you report you pleasant side effect for the sake of science. Just goes to show that different people have different reactions.

David,

I am interested in politics, which is why I wrote about "this Republican/Democrat/Trump/DeSantis thing." But I also identify myself as being an "old fashioned liberal," which is why I am adjusting to the fact that a number of comment posters "hijacked" my narrowly drawn article to share their view of reality on matters of "science."

And since you respect liberals who stand their ground, please don't take offense at the following. One comment poster addressed me for the very first time with the charge of propaganda writer. Another remark, from a different "hijacker," labeled my article "immoral." These are bullying tactics, in today's parlance. When I grew up, we would simply say the two writers are full of it. They don't know me, and besides, they came to my party and decided to change the music I was playing. That ain't cool, even though you have a cool host who is willing to make adjustments.

Cheers!

Reply to David William Pear:   New Content

Morning, David,

I hope what I am about to say makes some sense before I bow out. Here goes:

I knew I had written an article about some of the politics involved with dealing with Covid-19. The reactions to the piece were "scientific" in nature. This confused me. But my slow-moving mind continued thinking about what my eyes were seeing in this comments section. Now I believe all of the comments, including the ones about the scientific debate, belong. After all, disagreements people have about the science of an issue can have an impact on the political debate.

I have also noticed that the comments are nearing 100 now. I have never experienced this type of reaction to an article that I wrote. So, I understand the outpouring of comments is not a reaction to my narrow article about political implications. It speaks to the need thoughtful people have to express views that may not be acceptable now. Their views may not be deemed acceptable because so many people are dying.

As the Delta variant spreads, even more people will get infected, enter the hospital, and die. This may put even more pressure on writers, journalists, editors, and publishers to keep articles within what they deem to be acceptable limits. Honest people, serious people who are not playing political games to advance a short-term political goal may be shut out of the discussion because their research and views raise questions about or contradict the conventional wisdom put forward by mainstream experts and echoed by the mainstream media.

My simple insight, expressed in the above paragraph, has led me to raise this question: How much free speech can a publisher allow as many people die? I think an editor and publisher who blocks certain writers or articles after careful review is brave to this extent. That editor and publisher may know less people may read his publication, which can result in less money coming in. In short, that editor or publisher is willing to pay the price of his convictions. I give props to this because it is so hard these days to find people who demonstrate courage. In our aggressively capitalistic culture, it is equally rare to find someone who will pay a financial price to stand by his convictions.

Having given these props, I want to circle back to my strong support for free speech and free press. This is a complex matter because legal scholars assert that the Constitution protects us from governmental suppression, not the suppression that occurs in private enterprise as practiced by editors and publishers.

Still, I think our understanding of free speech and free press has changed over time. Many Americans want to see strong, varied articles of reporting and opinion, even articles and opinions that upset the powerful or the experts, even articles that fly in the face of what may be true, to the best of our ability to establish truth as we confront an ongoing pandemic.

The fact that my article is about to get 100 comments by today tells me there is a thirst out there for serious, honest people, not political players, to have their say. Therefore, I wonder if there is a way for serious, thoughtful, honest editors and publishers to make space for these thought outcasts?

Because all honest, serious, thoughtful people respect life, a balance is needed if the thought outcasts are allowed to participate in proper society. When I was young, 60 Minutes used to run a popular segment called Point/Counterpoint. Would a free exchange of ideas from more than one perspective work in an age when millions of people have died around the world from Covid-19? Could a serious publication print conflicting views, right next to each other? In short, could a publisher dare to let readers decide between the conflicting reporting and opinions? Or is the threat from the pandemic so profound that we must limit comment, even from sincere people who think rigorously?

Yesterday, Rob Kall posted a comment. He said that he could not tell where my words ended and the words from the Florida Department of Health started. I understood what Rob was saying, so I went into the system to make a fix.

Today, I read your comment about the headline I wrote for my article. I thought you were saying I was denying that vaccines help us fight Covid-19. So I pushed back, but I also kept thinking about your post. Please check out the article again. I changed the headline, replacing a specific reference with a general statement. Does this work better? If not, I'd appreciate it if you would share your idea of a good headline.

Yes, on and after 9/11, our 'officials' said 'the air was safe to breathe', and it was OK to reopen Wall Street the very next day, and OK to go to work on the 'hot pile' of 'molten debris', and breathe in all that smoke and dust that had been loaded with toxic chemicals, deadly gases, and explosive residues - #GrandJury .

A bluish smoke, laden with toxic ultra-fine particles, rose from the pile for three months after 9/11 - #HighMortality .

Good info. The key is injections are a big deal many have taken as "no big" deal. And most never are fully informed.

This is "new" technology and even the government's own numbers indicate a 99+ recovery. Just with that information should be a huge flag of caution.

The fact that this administration and its cohorts are pushing to inject people of all ages, plucking them off the street and injecting them with no follow up...poor people who may speak little English and if they are harmed would have no means of communicating let alone recording on VAERS. That's why the Harvard study says only about 1% are even recorded.

This country's history - not long ago - with the poor and injections has been well documented.

We've lost our collective minds. One could conclude this is pure evil.

Helen and you are writing about topics that I did not think addressed my article directly. This article shares with readers what the Florida Department of Health says makes sense to do to combat Covid-19. It also shows that the DeSantis administration is claiming success, based on the administration of vaccines provided by the federal government. And it underscores, I think, the destructive nonsense right-wing politicians are spouting now that the Biden administration wants to do what the DeSantis administration brags it did in the email I published in this article. Door-knocking works, wrote experts who work for Gov. DeSantis.

However, it appears to me that Helen and you, and perhaps other OpEd News comment posters, disagree with the DeSantis administration in Florida. That is useful to know, as is the broader information you two are sharing with us about the complexity of vaccines.

As I wrote in my article, I am not an expert. And even though I accept that Helen and you are offering important information, I do not think that information is dispositive. I am glad I took my two stabs of the Pfizer vaccine, even though it contains the ingredient referenced by Helen. I will keep readers posted should I start to experience health problems that can be traced back to the vaccine.

Picky point: nobody has yet isolated any COVID "virus", and since they haven't, they can't have tested it to see if it's infectious. Why is that? Because it's impossible. German microbiologist Stefan Lanka explains why: click here. This becomes even more obvious when one discovers that 73 patents were filed on various components of the SARS-CoVID-2 virus between 2008 and 2019: click here

In reality, fighting this bioweapon (and that is exactly what this COVID is as it has been man-made to be more transmissible and more deadly) this "vaccine" is not intended to save lives. Let us not forget Bill Gates, the one who has long been fighting for depopulating the globe, and those working for a New World Order of which he is a member are also working for the same is firmly behind especially Pfizer and their jab. Fauci is behind the Moderna jab. Ever wonder why blood clots have paused other jabs, but deaths haven't stopped Moderna or Pfizer? With news coming out the Pfizer jab consists of a high percentage of graphene oxide one must be concerned with the rapid installing of 5G networks. Then we have the government bribing people to take the jab added to the fact one is hard-pressed to come up with the last time the government has told us anything true, one has to be concerned.

People Who Are Scared of Medications

When I was done with classroom work and began to see patients with mental disorders independently , I would run into patients who were referred by psychiatrists or family doctors who had difficulty medicating the patient . The patients were usually very perfectionist , and mostly suffered from Obsessive -Compulsive Disorder . At times their symptoms were interfering with their life and they needed to take medications including certain antidepressants to get better. The new generation of the medications of last thirty years do not have any effect on the abilities or cognition of the person . The medications would just bring the obsessional thinking or compulsive behaviors under reasonable control to have a normal life . The problem was that some of these patients who badly needed to be on medications would not want medications , for a variety of irrational reasons. for example I heard from one of my patients that he had heard from Tom Cruise that these medications were bad for people . Ironically , if I was able to persuade one of my patients to take their medication , they would come up with side effects that were unheard of, .

After a few years of debating with those type of patients , I finally accepted that there is nothing that I can do for that population, and I would refer them to other doctors.

If several millions of people in the world have been vaccinated with minimal side effects and considering the coverage of this issue , and the severity of the illness , if a group of people still question our motives and do not want to be vaccinated . We just need to accept that our responsibility in trying to get these people to take the vaccine is completed and accept that some people are going to get sick and some of them will die and there is nothing that we can do for them . just work as hard as possible to vaccinated all people living on this planet who want a vaccine to get the vaccine .

For right or wrong rejecting vaccination is not against the law.

Are you also going to deny that virtually all pharmaceuticals prescribed for depression can actually CAUSE depression to the point of contemplating suicide ? Have you even read the inserts on the drugs YOU likely prescribe ? Why would you think that a new-to-humans, UN-APPROVED injection for a virus that no one even knows exists would inherently be "safe and effective" ??? Sheeeesh....

So are you saying we shouldn't take drugs at all? That's great if you can manage it, but you would have a hard time finding anyone who hasn't taken a prescription drug in their lifetime.

I suffer from depression /stomach issues at times and I have taken medicine for it. I know that side effects are possible, but the benefits far outweighed the possible side effects. Vaccines have prevented diseases such as measles and polio, and now are being used to keep people from dying. Life is a risk, get used to it.

Drugs contain toxins and are known to cause many diseases including chronic disease and death over time. The 3rd biggest killer after heart disease and cancer, is medical injuries due to prescribed medication, and these are taken AS PRESCRIBED.

I don't think putting your life at risk is what's meant by that phrase, "life is a risk". Drugs suppress, in many cases, the natural healing process. They are a huge revenue stream for Big Pharma - their biggest is "vaccines". In order to reap those profits they need to have disease: NOT HEALTH.

In response to a previous article here I re-published a series of charts compiled from 'official' data re: case numbers of six common 'diseases' and correlating those numbers to the initiation of vaccinations. In virtually all, the charts clearly show that each disease was on the wane, if not totally expended, by the time the vaccines were introduced. Of course, the vaccine makers used the data to make the claim that their vaccines were responsible for what had already occurred naturally.

Interestingly, the chart for polio clearly shows the spike in polio cases a few years AFTER the introduction of the vaccines. This was fully documented as a result of the vaccine CAUSING polio in those cases. Normally, I would say "sure, go ahead and get "vaccinated" if you want" but the problem with this new experimental gene therapy is that many scientists are predicting (and observing) cases of 'shedding' taking place. The 'shedding' appears to be the spike proteins, which can be extraordinarily dangerous to a person's natural immune system. That actually puts ME at risk from those around me who have been injected with this experiment. All the while, the gov. is telling ME that I'm the real danger. I think not.

Dear Kennet

Here we go again. Thank you for teaching me psychopharmacology . I am not a Psychiatrist, I am a Clinical Neuropsychologist. I did not prescribe the medications . The psychiatrists who had difficulty with a patient who was difficult to medicate or diagnose or needed psychotherapy would refer them to me for comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment including recommending medication if needed.

Before I got retired . I mostly was working as the last consult . That is the doctor who is in charge of treating patients who have been seen by other doctors from different departments and no one has been able to figure out their problem and would refer the patient to me to get to the bottom of the problem . Being last consult required adequate education and expertise in psychopharmacology , Clinical psychology , neuroradiology and clinical neuropsychology.

After treating hundreds of patients suffering from depression , I know for a fact that antidepressants do not cause suicide . If a person is suicidal , he has to inform his doctor of his suicidality and accept to be hospitalized to prevent that unnecessary death. I have two recommendations for you,(1) stop reading about medications on the internet and leave that to my colleagues . (2) keep your minimal education , experience and your fear of medications to yourself , and stop repeating the Tom Cruise scenario.

I forgot to reply to your point regarding the insert papers that pharmaceutical companies put in the medication packages. Pharmaceutical companies include those papers to protect themselves from frivolous law suits.

I had heard this kind of comments from many patients . Therefore I always advise my patients to consult their pharmacists or doctors about possible side effects of medication and avoid reading the inserts and Tom Cruise type of advisers.

Dear Tim

These theories of conspiracies in the U.S is quite unfortunate. If you dig into internet you will find a research or an opinion of some sort from a group of people who believe in conspiracies , and have their own reasons and research to support them with.

If you prefer to take the risk of getting sick rather than taking the vaccine , that is your choice ,

However the continuous attempts to convince other people that the vaccine causes problems in future is causing a significant rise in the number of sick and dead today. Please for the sake of humanity keep your ideas to yourself.

First, DeSantis hasn't been hoisted on anything. No one is laughing at him. No one is calling him a fool. This is what politicians do -- talk out of both sides of their mouth.

Second "Confirmation Bias". This rap tune explains it quite well.

Who are you suppose to believe when there are supposedly well-qualified scientists on both sides of the argument?

Third, I won't post a link, but Jimmy Dore is also having a negative reaction to getting vaccinated. He isn't telling folks to not get vaccinated though. He's just saying that it isn't all a "good thing".

I got vaccinated. I think that's what caused my broken toe. /s

And finally, I guess I have to include this.

This is what bomb-throwing right-wing politicians who claim to respect life are saying now that President Biden wants to do what Governor DeSantis has done in Florida: While President Joe Biden's White House may be hitting back against critics of its door-to-door vaccination push, at least a few GOP governors have made moves to ban such efforts in their state most notably South Carolina's Henry McMaster. GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert on Thursday called medical professionals conducting door-to-door vaccination efforts "needle Nazis," marking the second time in one week that a Republican member of Congress has likened the Biden administration's COVID-19 mitigation strategy to Nazism, the ideology that led to the Holocaust. EXCLUSIVE: The conservative House Freedom Caucus is pushing back on President Biden's latest door-to-door vaccine push decrying the home visits as a "deeply disturbing" violation of Americans' privacy. Rep. Andy Biggs, the chairman of the House of Representatives' right-wing group with a history of ruffling feathers, is leading the effort to call on the White House to explain the "constitutional and statutory authority" for conducting the door-knocking coronavirus vaccination campaign and demanding answers on whether the federal government is tracking individuals' private health information. "Door-to-door vaccine checks on Americans are a blatant abuse of government authority and a pure power play by the Biden administration," Biggs, R-Ariz., said in a statement to Fox News. "The federal government has no right to track the private health information of Americans or to intimidate people into getting the vaccine." Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene refers to Nazi-era 'brown shirts' in opposing vaccination push (yahoo.com) "Biden pushing a vaccine that is NOT FDA approved shows covid is a political tool used to control people," she tweeted. "People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment." Rep. Jim Jordan implied that Biden's proposed community outreach was merely a precursor for more government oversight, tweeting, "The Biden Administration wants to knock on your door to see if you're vaccinated. What's next? Knocking on your door to see if you own a gun?" Freshman Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina suggested on Friday, during an interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference's summer gathering in Texas, that Biden may use the strategy to later take away people's guns and Bibles.

Gov. DeSantis is profiting politically from the selling of merchandise that mocks Dr. Anthony Fauci. Fauci, of course, is known for a variety of things related to dealing with Covid-19; chief among them, he urges people to get vaccinated. The merchandise reads, "Don't Fauci My Florida."

In this context, DeSantis needs to act like a leader, and not a politician bent on playing to his base, unless he is willing to take the chance that some Floridians will think he is telling them they should not get vaccinated.

People can die because of this cheap political game.

As of this writing, 27 comments have been posted in reaction to my article. Most of those comments have come from readers. Some of the posts, of course, are my responses to reader reaction.

It's a big deal to me that people put in the time and effort to say what they think. Most times I get no comments, or maybe one or two. So, something is changing; maybe I'm being taken more seriously, or folks want to run me out of town!

I also noticed that someone with a Ph.D. wrote at least two comments, an editor at OpEd News sent in a thought, and someone who either lives in or has visited Paris spoke his mind. My hunch is that most people who participate at OpEd News have lived interesting and successful lives.

That's what I like about getting stuff published here, even though my opinion may be a minority opinion, or may be an opinion that just doesn't make sense to folk.

Before I get started with the day, and stop writing, I want to ask Don Smith, an editor here, to send me a better headline for this article. He did not like the one that I wrote. I will go back into the system and press the modify key to make the change if I like what Don sends me.

A lawsuit has been filed against the federal government for covering up the true number of deaths from the covid vaccines.

Lawsuit PDF: here

A whistleblower swore under penalty of perjury that there have been 45,000 deaths within 3 days of injection, 5 times more than have been reported on VAERS. That's a conservative estimate.

Why are we injecting a population when there is at least a 99.8% survival rate?

Great news about the lawsuit, Ms Nan. Take a look at this interview:

Stew Peters talked with Dr. David Martin in an historical interview with inarguable fact-based exposure that should be seen by the entire world as an absolute end to the COVID narrative.

Non-scientific immoral article.

1. We do not know the long term effects of the s.c. "vaccinations". Causing blood clots in healthy people is just one thing that can happen.
2. You are talking about lower number of cases in the end of the "pandemic", as WHO calls these events since 2008.
3. Immoral and unnatural to save old and unhealthy people, if you at the same time lure, kill and maim young healthy people with vaccines.

There were seven cases of blood problem in Six million cases of vaccinated people with J&J vaccine. If seven people develop ulcers after taking aspirin , no one concludes that aspirin is harmful and should not be prescribed . One would add another medication to patient's list of medication to prevent the continuation of the problem with ulcers , or just give them something else.

In dealing with Corvid we have hundreds of millions of people who have been vaccinated with no problems. Four members of my family have come to the U.S to get the vaccine because vaccines are not available in Iran. Most Iranians travel to Dubai or Armenia to get the vaccine. The problem is so bad that Armenia is refusing to give entry visas to Iranians.

If you do not want to be vaccinated then take the risk and do not take it.

People without proper educational degrees and licenses use the freedom of information to dispense their unrealistic fears to other people causing significant problems for doctors to do get rid of this virous.

"People without proper educational degrees and licenses use the freedom of information to dispense their unrealistic fears..." Full of ourselves much ?

FOIAs are one of the last chances we 'unedumacateds' have to get to even a kernel of the truth that either the government or big business is trying to hide from us. It's been proven that the vast majority of your vaunted doctors never read drug inserts themselves. My life was nearly ruined by the drug Avelox after taking only three pills. The prescribing doctor and nurses swore up and down that it couldn't cause the symptoms I was having. Turned out that thousands of others had been suffering the same reactions and that they were described clearly, although in microscopic print, in the drug insert. The drug was black labeled shortly after, but I believe it is STILL on the market. Another success, FDA !

As a 'degreed' professional, why do you persist in calling this a "vaccine" when it is precisely an experimental gene therapy that is and was never even claimed by the makers to prevent contraction or transmission of a disease, but merely to possibly lessen the symptoms ?

Dear Kenneth

I am sixty eight years old . Every morning I take a handful of medications to control all of the symptoms that I used to have. I am a cancer survivor . If I was living in Iran , I would have been dead from medical problems or definitely killed because of my political activities .

I worked in hospitals all of my adult life . I wrote everything that one can write in a couple of comments for you and other people who are hesitant or scared of the vaccine . This is a free country if you do not want to take the vaccine then don't. However your perseverance to convince other people that taking the Covid vaccine or taking other medications is harmful can potentially cause other people to get sick and or die. If you believe in the ethics of your belief system then please try to keep your ideas to yourself.

P.S . When my first child was born handicapped . I got badly depressed and I had to take Prozac to come out of depression. I did not have any adverse reactions to Prozac or any of the medications that I am taking now.

Not only did you not answer any of my questions, you told me to keep my opinions to myself. Wow...... I'm so glad you moved to the U.S. so you can express YOUR opinions freely. By the way, I'm nearly 73 years old, don't take any prescription 'medications' even though many 'doctors' would love to put me on some, and I certainly don't need or seek out the services of any psycho-quacks out there. I'm glad that Prozac has helped you; I personally know a few people who had to stop taking that type of "anti-depressant" because of the extreme depression they felt while on the drugs. I will never advocate that anyone take an experimental injection without knowing as well as possible the potential downside risk of it, and it seems that you would wish them NOT to know (just like the gov. / media). Have you ever heard of the Hippocratic Oath ?

Dear Kenneth

If you had presented a logical question you would have received a logical answer , but communication with people who are into conspiracy theories or believe that medications are bad for them is just a waste of time.

People with this kind of character use denial and projection as primary ego defense mechanisms . Consequently , they deny existence of the problem to begin with , and then project their problems on the other people. Just like you becoming sarcastic with me for being permitted to come to this country.

The average life expectancy of people in the U.S was 35 in 1900. That low number is currently more than 80. The main cause of this rapid increase in life expectancy in the U.S and the world is solely due to the improvements in the world of medicine and production of new medications.

I am sure that you now this fact , but if after 73 years you are still convinced that you should refuse your doctors recommendation for taking medications . How in the world can I have a rational conversation with you about medications?

If a person is suffering from depression and Prozac is not taking care of it and the patient is getting worse . It is not Prozac which is making the patient worse. In that kind of situation the patient is hospitalized and his medication gets regulated. Some times the depression is so bad and so painful that they have to use multiple meds and or shock treatment , along with psychotherapy and group therapy to pull the person out of depression . In old times when these treatments were not available people would die of depression.

I think we have exchanged enough comments and it is time to stop.

Good Luck

Thank you for the free psychoanalysis, doctor. I feel better now, but I know I'd feel a LOT better with some of those good drugs with which you are so familiar.

The life expectancy in the U.S. improved with decent food production and safe water. As proven by actual data, the advent of the "Rockefeller" brand of medicine introduced in this country has done very little to improve the overall health. In fact, there is significant data to prove just the opposite. That data is getting harder to find, because it is being quietly stripped from the more readily available stores of knowledge. Currently, hundreds of prominent world scientists and experts in the medical field are being silenced, censored and professionally destroyed. But hey, keep believing in the system in which you are so deeply entrenched. I'm sure it will bring much monetary riches to you, because THAT is what the U.S. 'healthcare' system is apparently all about.

It's risky for OpEdNews to allow articles to be published with titles that promote vaccine denialism. It diminishes the credibility of the website. Yes, the "debate" continues, but so does the "debate" about whether Biden stole the 2020 election, and the "debate" about whether antifa was behind the Jan 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and the "debate" about human-caused climate change. Only nutcases promote those conspiracy theories.

I agree with Don Smith and Dr. Sadeghian, but I want to point out that conspiracies do exist, and that I subscribe to the views that The Kennedy and Martin Luther King Assassinations were results of conspiracies in the highest reaches of the US government, and also 9/ll. But we live now in a time of Trump-inspired paranoia, with conspiracy theories run amok, and, most tragically, in a time of plague. A few of us are trying to resist the madness.

Because Nels is a hell of a nice guy. He has done so many amazing things in his life there should be a book and movie based on him. Many of us are just damn happy to see Nels here and hopefully doing better. Have respect for your elders and betters. Nels is my pal.

If Nels wants respect he should give it out first, how does that qualify as a nice guy?

I don't respect a-holes, even if they are old a-holes.

This is a perfect example of your warped thinking David.

No I didn't know he was recovering from a stroke, but that isn't the point. I've seen enough of Nels' comments to know he insults people he doesn't agree with (including myself). I also make no excuses for age, an old person should know better. Birds of a feather flock together.

I've also put up with your insults also Pear, so you can kiss my butt!

Robert, I have wondered for a long time what it is that holds you back from seeing and understanding how the world really works. Don't feel bad, you are like most other uninformed people. And don't feel lonely; you have plenty of company. After thinking long and hard, I finally figured out what it is that holds you back. Honestly, you only need to do one thing. That one thing will allow you to take a very deep breath and allow yourself to see that the world you think exists, does not exist. You really should try it.

Robert, free up your mind and allow your eyes to open up wide .... by starting to think outside the box! You will quickly start to see clearly all the things that have been right in front of your face but you haven't wanted to believe. The reason for you not being able to believe what is really true is of course, because your rigid beliefs are biased and uninformed beliefs. Ignorant beliefs.

And you say, to get respect you should give it out first. You calling people, "a-holes," is just one reason, you get no respect. What you said to Nels was absolutely uncalled for and really pisses me off... Why don't you go hang out with your old fellow sidekick a-h*le that fled OEN? You two were such a charming pair.

Thanks for your advice David, but I prefer not to live in your delusional world. Nels instituted the first insult ,yet he is supported because he's an old guy. This is not the first time Nels has thrown out insults.... in fact he does it quite often, qualifying him as an a-hole. Know all the facts before you decide something is uncalled for. Nels insulted Don Smith for no reason and yet he comes off as the nice guy, typical warped thinking.

Unsupported: There is no evidence that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine contains graphene. The only sample used in the study is of unknown origin and traceability. Lists of the vaccine's ingredients released by Pfizer-BioNTech do not include graphene oxide. The analysis, done using electron microscopy, is also inconclusive.
Misleading: These claims state that the analysis is an official study from the University of Almería. However, the university has "unequivocally" distanced itself from the analysis that claims to have found graphene oxide in a vial of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The university also made it clear it doesn't endorse the analysis.
