This was the original MSN article:
I posted this article with my request for comments today on a wide variety of Bernie Groups on Facebook, hoping for a vigorous and specific response, and this was my opening salvo:
"OK, strategists and advisers for Bernie in 2020! Please comment in length and in detail on this! We need to go into a higher gear to rebut and counter this!"
"Despite the controversies surrounding President Trump, a Democratic strategist has stated that "he has a clear path to winning reelection." according to an important Democratic strategist
(~~~~~Hard to comprehend this point of view, given the way Donald has been excoriating Senators like Bob Corker of Tennessee and many others, in a kind of political implosion more destructive to the Republican chances in 2018 than any Democratic opponent or strategist could be on their own!)"
The Responses were as follows:
Mike Potts: The only way that man can win again is if the oligarchy who already run both political parties want him in office to do the things neither party can do and survive. I think the plutocrats want him in the Presidency so that afterwards they can blame him for what they have done through him. Then they think they can return to their comfortable managed democracy intact. The hubris of these plutocrats knows no limits.
Jeanette Hill OH DEAR GOD NO NO NO NO NO
Michael Inglis What is there to rebut or counter? He is absolutely right, Trump does have a clear path to winning the next election. Were that not true we would not see posts about how the Democratic Party is going to lose, again, everytime one of their corporatist stooges opens his or her mouth and embarrasses themselves by ignoring that half the Party and Independents just cannot stand them. I think that Sanders could win an election against Trump, but a Harris or Biden will surely lose.
Mark Wark Why would strategists and advisers of a populist movement building a political revolution care about which corporate political duopoly wins? Noam Chomsky put it this way, "What is most missing on the Left are not policy and societal solutions but rather cohesive, resilient, long-lasting radical organization tying together the various fragmented groups and issues around which Left progressive and Leftists often fight very good struggles in the U.S." We should be building sustainable coalition for our own clear path to winning.
John Paulson The DNC uses alarmism to peddle their "unity" narrative, which actually can be translated to "we're not trump" while still ignoring the populist zeitgeist which got trump elected in the first place. trump wins again, i'll tell you right now it's this nonsense being pushed by the establishment wonks.
James Martin He should be impeached before he can run for re-election !
AjChazy Sanders Bennington No way! We Want Bernie 2020. Bernie is the best way to win in 2020, not Trump. Trump approval numbers going down. He is not doing a good job. Bernie Sanders's popularity is growing.
John Treadwell Why wouldn't the DNC sabotage Bernie again in favor of a globalist status quo sold off scumbag ..er... or scumbagette? They do not want change, they cant afford to pay for the social(ist) services or do not want to. It doesn't matter America is broke and all the credit cards are maxed out to 20 Trillion and the Fed is printing money like there's no tomorrow. economy and old ways are doomed. It would be better to build a backyard garden then worry about politics. they do not count our votes, and they are fixing to starve everyone out of existence/resistance.
