Happy September, Truthseekers!

Another month, another set of sweeping stats on global death and destruction. As predicted, Israel is attempting a massive land grab following the recent Gaza bombings. Wasn't that always the ultimate objective? Each time Israel begins an air-strike campaign, it is immediately followed by a new "settlement" incursion. Israel will not stop until all Palestinians are forced off the remains of their lands.

This is from Huffington Post:

"Israel announced on Sunday a land appropriation in the occupied West Bank that an anti-settlement group termed the biggest in 30 years, drawing Palestinian condemnation and a U.S. rebuke.

"'We urge the government of Israel to reverse this decision,' a State Department official said in Washington, calling the move 'counterproductive' to efforts to achieve a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians.

"Israel Radio said the step was taken in response to the kidnapping and killing of three Jewish teens by Hamas militants in the area in June.

"Tensions stoked by the incident quickly spread to Israel's border with Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, and the two sides engaged in a seven-week war that ended on Tuesday with an Egyptian-brokered cease fire.

"The notice published on Sunday by the Israeli military gave no reason for the land appropriation decision."

And so it goes. The land grab continues, despite the (tepid) response from US officials. Can you imagine? Your family nurtured an olive grove for hundreds of years. Twenty generations or more were sustained by the olive trade. Your entire identity and heritage invested in this ancient land and its crops, which your family had owned for, perhaps, 500 years. One day a group of officials in dark suits appear at your door and give you 30 days to vacate your land. Abandon your home. Your property. Your livelihood. Without any compensation. You are told to just ... leave. With nothing. No money, no place to go. You are told to leave because they now own your land, your olive orchard, your business, your heritage. Your millennia. It belongs to them because God -- and the government -- told them it did. And they are free to destroy it or exploit it as they see fit.

What would you do, Truthseeker, if it were you? Would you just peaceably leave your home, your farm, your heritage, everything you ever owned and become a homeless nomad? Or would you fight for what was yours with whatever meager weapons you had at your disposal?

Homemade mortars against ballistic missiles. Israeli air strikes against slingshots. This is a one-sided battle. Winner take all. As it was in the beginning, it shall it be in the end, amen. Cease fire be dammed. Netanyahu has spoken and he has described the absolute destruction the state of Israel has wrought.

From al Jazeera:

"Israel has made its first official statement over the cease fire it signed with Hamas, saying the Palestinian group that runs Gaza has been dealt a major blow and that it did not receive any of the demands it had made.

"In comments delivered in a prime-time address on national television, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said that 'Hamas was hit hard,' adding that Israel 'didn't agree to accept any of Hamas' demands' under the Egyptian-brokered cease fire deal.

"'The cease fire was achieved without any of the terms being given,' Netanyahu said, before reeling off key demands Hamas had made but were not accepted, including reopening the seaport and airport and removing restrictions on the movement of the people of Gaza.
