People who want to protect our democracy ought to keep an eye on the Election Law Blog by law Professor Rick Hasen.
On Thursday afternoon, he published a letter that 40 experts on elections and democracy wrote to Congress.
The experts warn we could face a constitutional crisis if we continue to fumble our way to Election Day and beyond.
The Coronavirus pandemic, multiple lawsuits already filed, with many more lying in the wings, promise bad times ahead.
The following link, which I found on the Election Law Blog, details more than 300 election-related lawsuits that have been filed around the country.
At least some of the lawsuits deal with the anticipated massive increase in vote-by-mail ballots, which adds to the possible chaos we can experience between Nov. 3 and Jan. 20, when we are scheduled to install a president based on an accurate and honest count of all legitimate votes cast.
From my perspective, President Trump's almost daily antidemocratic verbal assaults are akin to a process server delivering bad news about an upcoming nasty legal battle.
Fortunately, though, we've got some smart people looking ahead.
With that thought in mind, I'm printing the link to the Election Law Blog, as well as a press release on the letter I mentioned above.
