In all of my years, I never imagined that I would ever see a US President insult any US Senate candidate with the likes of calling them a "flake," "overrated," "trying to turn Texas into Venezuela," and a "dangerous socialist."
Also, having grown up with some naive concepts and archaic expectations of responsible journalists, I never imagined that I would hear lunacy on the air waves in the form of shock radio like Howard Stern or Sean Hannity or the other wing nuts from Fox Radio (no relation, by the way....)At the Houston rally yesterday, Donald Trump called Beto a "stone cold phony. "He pretends to be a moderate, but he's actually a radical open-borders left-winger."
Beto's measured response completely ignored the President's insults, after being besieged by reporters in Houston:
"This is an extraordinarily beautiful day," O'Rourke told the group of early risers, speaking through a megaphone. "Look at this sky. It's cool, it's fall -- we're gonna vote. Listen, we've all worked for a very long time to be here at this moment together."

Epic levels of early voting were in the headlines all over Texas, from a note from Chris Evan, Communications Director for Beto O'Rourke:
Here are some of the incredible headlines from the first day of Early Voting, and this in a state renowned heretofore as the lowest voter turn out state in the USA (so that might tell the pundits something?):
