A crowd of thousands - one of the largest of any presidential candidate so far in this campaign - showed up for Bernie Sanders at University of Denver's Hamilton Gymnasium on Saturday night. He spoke to an estimated 5,500 people in the gym, atrium and lacrosse field.

Sanders took the stage to the tune of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World," famously used for Donald Trump's recent announcement of his candidacy, but without Young's approval. Mother Jones noted, "It was an odd choice (for the Trump campaign), given that the 1989 song seemed to slam a Republican administration for not giving a damn about the poor. And Young has taken exception to Trump's appropriation of his tune. A statement issued to Mother Jones for Young by his longtime manager Elliot Roberts suggests Young was not pleased by Trump's use of the song: Donald Trump's use of 'Rockin' in the Free World' was not authorized. "

But Young is a longtime supporter of Bernie Sanders, so The Bern had not only Young's approval, but his support.

Sanders proposed "putting 13 million Americans to work with a $1 trillion investment in rebuilding crumbling roads and bridges, providing tuition-free higher education at public colleges and universities, expanding child care to help working families, providing a Medicare-for-all single payer health care system to improve care and cuts costs, raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, stopping the abuse of overtime rules that let corporations keep payrolls low, insuring pay equity for women and other initiatives."

And Bill Maher is calling Sanders a "rock star."
