(Part 3: An Open Letter to US Congressman Frank Pallone (6th, NJ)

Reference is made to the commentary "Pallone answers health reform queries" published in The Asbury Park Press 8/2/09.

As Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, one of the pivotal teams in Congress examining the critical issue of Health Care Reform, Mr. Pallone your ideas were truly insightful. In fact, they outlined not only your pledge of allegiance, but also how the workings of our capitalist system help to carve out nice, comfy niches for our representatives (with full health benefits and pensions) while asking citizens to grease up and bend over (what! again?)

Thank you for showing your true colors to District Six.

I particularly appreciated your avoidance of the subject of H.R. 676 which is John Conyers' Universal Single Payer Health Care proposal, something that would save over $400 billion in overhead in just the first year of operation, has the support of over 550 unions and 59% of doctors, would cover every American regardless of age, income, employment, or pre-existing condition, would add 2.6 million new jobs, inject $317 billion in new business revenues, $100 billion in wages, and would be paid for with very, very modest (progressive) taxes (as low as one to 3.3%). H.R. 676 is referred to as Medicare for everyone.
