Dear Mr. Robertson:

It should come as no surprise that after your father Pat's latest AIDS comment ("You can get AIDS from towels") the nation of Kenya, the Centers For Disease Control, and the World Health Organization are not pleased. They are fuming as much as the LGBT community when he commented about "AIDS rings" used by gay activists to purposely transmit HIV. They are as irate as Haiti was after he said that its devastating earthquake may have been caused by a pact with the devil. They may not be as angry as the Alzheimer's Association was when he told a man to divorce his wife who was "virtually dead." But cut them some slack - these things take time to come to full fuming.

It's time that you admit it: your father, the venerable old man of demon-possessed Halloween candy and miracle diet shakes is ... senile.

And he has been senile for quite some time. What's more, you know it.

Nobody knows for sure when his decline started. Maybe it was when he said:

"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

Or when he expostulated on "Gay Days" at Disney World:

"I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you ... It'll bring about terrorist bombs; it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor."

His senility, however, was in full force when Haiti came along:

"They were under the heel of the French, you know, Napoleon the third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the prince.' True story.
And so the devil said, 'OK, it's a deal.' And they kicked the French out. The Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another."

That was back in 2010 when I wrote a fairly successful OpEdNews piece about his senility. Oh, he's had some lucid moments, like when he put his imprimatur on marijuana (much to the confusion of his Fundamentalist and Southern Baptist viewers). But these have so few as to be negligible.
