Rush Limbaugh said today that he's ruined Obama's honeymoon, ""I, El Rushbo -- and I say this happily -- have hijacked Obama's honeymoon."
This reminds me of my dog, Seasons. He's a little bichon-poo-- about 16 pounds. He shared our home with his step-sister, Vanilla, a yellow lab, for 13 of his 15 years. All those years, that little dog, Seasons, would try to mount Vanilla. She was at least twice his height and weighed a good five times as much as him. Seasons would get all excited, expend lots of humping energy, and Vanilla would yawn, flip her tail, like a fly was buzzing nearby, and go back to sleep.
So, Limbaugh is feeling potent, like he's making a big impact on Obama? I don't think so. He wishes he would. His listeners may like to fantasize that their tough right wing big talking phallic-symbol-smoking hero is actually making a difference. But I think he's looking a lot like my little dog, Seasons-- humpin' away, putting out a lot of energy, and not having any effect at all, certainly not fazing Obama.
In past years, I'd probably have had a few nasty lines dedicatd to Rushbo's fans. Maybe Obama is rubbing off on me a bit. And maybe some of those old fans have been lured from the dark side. We have interesting times ahead.
