The United States has long been engaged in a secret shadow war with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), dating back to the American invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003.

This conflict took the lives of hundreds of American troops and hundreds more IRGC members. The Iranian opposition to the U.S. occupation of Iraq, and the inability of the U.S. to militarily defeat Iranian forces inside Iraq, was just one reason that the Obama administration decided to withdraw American troops in 2011.

Since that time, a tenuous truce has existed between the U.S. military in the region and the IRGC. Even when American troops were re-deployed to Iraq in 2014 to help defeat the Islamic State (ISIS), they did so in concert with IRGC who were fighting alongside Iraqi Shiite militias. American forces inside Syria likewise avoided direct conflict with the IRGC, which was aiding the Syrian military.

But now, the Trump administration has made the decision to designate the IRGC a terrorist organization. This little reported move will have large consequences, shredding the prior truce and putting the lives of thousands of U.S. service members at risk.

"Today, I am formally announcing my Administration's plan to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including its Qods Force, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act," the president announced on April 8. The designation will take effect on April 15.

Trump further noted,

"This designation will be the first time that the United States has ever named a part of another government as an FTO," adding, "This action sends a clear message to Tehran that its support for terrorism has serious consequences. We will continue to increase financial pressure and raise the costs on the Iranian regime for its support of terrorist activity until it abandons its malign and outlaw behavior."

The Quds Force, a unit within the IRGC that specializes in operations outside Iran, has long been viewed as a terrorist organization by the United States. The IRGC as an entity, however, operates as an integral part of the Iranian government. As such, the U.S. has deliberately avoided classifying it as a terrorist organization out of concerns that doing so would hobble diplomatic efforts with Iran and even destabilize the greater Middle East.

Given the fact Washington is currently engaged in a global "war" on terrorism, this designation, which places the IRGC on the same footing as ISIS and al-Qaeda, means that the U.S. is in effect at war with Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif responded to the designation on Monday. He recommended in a letter to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani that given the ongoing overt and covert support of U.S. military forces in the region for groups that have been involved in terrorist acts against Iran the Supreme National Security Council should designate U.S. Central Command as terrorists.

The Iranians have long assessed that U.S. intelligence services and Special Operations forces have used militant Iranian opposition organizations as proxies in a bloody, undeclared war to undermine the legitimacy of the Iranian government and harm the IRGC. For example, last February, a Baluch separatist group, Jaish al-Adl, claimed credit for the bombing of a bus carrying IRGC soldiers, which killed nearly 30 people. The IRGC claims that the group received its instructions, training, and equipment from U.S. personnel operating out of Afghanistan.

Likewise, in September 2018, a group calling itself the "Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz" launched an attack on an IRGC parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, killing scores. Iranian state media put the blame for this attack squarely on the U.S. and its Gulf allies, remarking, "The attack comes after a U.S.-backed campaign to stir up unrest in Iranian cities fell flat. The effort, known as the Hot Summer Project, sought to whip up public anger over water and electricity shortages in the face of a protracted drought." Foreign Minister Zarif likewise blamed the United States and Gulf states. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been foursquare behind the U.S. in trying to thwart Iranian influence in the region, the four-year war in Yemen being the most catastrophic example of how far they will go to achieve that goal.

Then-U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley adamantly denied that the U.S. had anything to do with the September attack.

Zarif's recommendation to designate Central Command as terrorists was echoed by Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh , the head of the Iranian parliament's national security committee. The IRGC also made its position clear regarding the FTO designation.

"If the Americans take such a stubborn measure and endanger our national security we will put in place counter-measures in line with the police of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, the IRGC's commander-in-chief, declared.

If one goes by the message coming out of the White House and State Department, it would appear that the next country being targeted by the U.S. for regime change is Iran. And the best way to start the war would be to have the Iranians, or someone pretending to be the Iranians, attack a U.S. naval vessel in the Persian Gulf.

If it were carried out by, let us suggest, the Israelis or Saudis, both of whom have motive to do so, it would be a false-flag operation leading to war.

Isn't it amazing? We can sit back and having already read the script, watch the movie unfold. One thing you can't accuse this administration of is subtlety. They've declared their intentions, war is coming, we just waiting for the other boot to drop.

Citizens are so distracted by either escape entertainment, political and celebrity scandal, or just trying to make ends meet -- or a combination of all three -- they don't pay attention to the previews of coming attractions. Yes, we will soon be at war, with Iran, and/or Russia in the Crimea, and or China in the South China Sea or Taiwan, and/or Venezuela.

All of this potential conflict, in one or some combination of the above, if I read the script correctly, won't end up so much of a blood bath as a vapor trail ... the one where the U.S. empire used to exist.

In Washington, Netanyahu can rely on the full-throated support of Donald Trump's administration.

In other words, Netanyahu will face no serious domestic or international obstacles as he implements the agenda of the right. He will entrench control over the last fragments of what was once assumed to be an emerging Palestinian state and he will step up attacks on the rights of Israel's Palestinian citizens, in line with the Nation-State Basic Law he passed last summer.

We'll be at war with Iran during the summer of 2020, especially if the polls show that trump is not doing well.

#CollateralMurder - that was W Bush launching a War of Aggression against Iraq - the Supreme Crime Against Humanity and lying profusely ("232 false statements") to do so.

W Bush has not been "held accountable" by congress, Obama, Trump, or any of the State Attorney Generals and District Attorneys ("to 2,200 prosecutors") for each soldier from their respective States/Districts "killed in Iraq" on W Bush's orders "lets go" to Iraq ("Fraudulent Justification" Article II/"Torture" Article XVIII). Bush "JOKEs" about troops "not finding" WMD- "got to be around here somewhere".

Crooks and liars don't hold other crooks and liars accountable.

The crooks and liars must be given their walking papers.

Personally, I'd lay those "walking papers" in a nice straight line leading to the nearest cliff. But then they couldn't write their memoirs and we'd never know how they were feeling as they slaughtered innocent children, promoted genocide, destroyed whole countries, sent millions of immigrants into foreign lands, particularly the glee they felt as they saw their defense industry stocks soar in value. Imagine the cultural vacuum we'd be facing if George W. Bush never got to paint his marvellous paintings!

It can only be brinkmanship and a war between proxies or among proxies. It is a stupid calculation of course because a direct confrontation or mistake which humans make all the time, will most likely escalate and lead to vapor, dust and debris.

Look at all of the investments being made by Russia, China and other non globalists into infrastructure. This attitude means that war among the powers will be for keeps. a**holes won't be allowed to go around blowing up stuff so that they can get economically ahead.

So if someone comes to bring war there will be at least a couple of possible outcomes: The aggressor must pay reparations for the damages and loss of lives unlike the murderous criminals motherfuckers who rubblized Beirut, Lebanon, and Iraqi and Syrian cities with no financial or international criminal consequences or they must be destroyed so that they will not represent a threat for a millennia.

USA (not America) committed an act of war in helping overthrow the democratically elected government of Iran in 1953, and aided its puppet the Shah in (sometimes brutally) suppressing dissent until 1979, when the Shaw was overthrown. Soon after, USA became an active combatant alongside Iraq in a brutal war that killed something on the order of a million people. Sanctions and blockades are also acts of war, aimed primarily at the civilian population.

How little people remember.

The labeling of the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group is particularly disturbing as it means that the United States military by virtue of the Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) now has a mandate to attack the IRGC wherever it appears including in Syria or even in the waterway the Straits of Hormuz where the guard has regular patrols in small boats - It is a de facto declaration of war.

I believe this bully bullsh*t has run its course and the rest of the World is having enough. This can be seen in Venezuela as Russia and China are both prepared to sending the bullies packing if necessary, which hopefully it doesn't have to do.

Americans, rather than waving a flag egging these criminals on, should instead be preparing a shelter for themselves and loved ones as our security is weakening by every blunder these thugs make and unfortunately nobody is calling for their trials as war crime criminals and criminals against humanity.

How ignorant they must feel the American people are to actually believe the fables told us like 9/11, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, Venezuela, Iran. When will we, the people, wake up and demand these crimes to stop in our name?

Yes, indeed, agreed, "she used those words specifically because she knows it wasn't 19 Arabs with box cutters" - "Overwhelming evidence exists that the collapses of the Twin Towers and Building 7 were instances of controlled demolition. But al-Qaeda operatives could not have obtained the needed access to the buildings to plant the explosives and would not have ensured that the buildings come straight down.

The controlled demolition, therefore, had to be the work of insiders. That President Bush was one of those insiders is suggested by the fact that his brother and cousin were principals in the company in charge of WTC security.

Complicity at the highest levels of the federal government is also indicated by the removal of evidence (the collapsed steel), which is normally a federal offense. Finally, if the airplane strikes could have occurred only with the consent of the president and the secretary of defense (as suggested in the previous point), the coordination of these strikes with the demolition of the buildings implies their involvement in the latter as well" - "VII. Summation: The 9/11 Attacks as Acts of Treason".

9/11 Treason - MEMO to Congress submitted to Hon. John Conyers, Jr. Judiciary Committee, U.S. House of Representatives, November 2006, who apparently "never held a Hearing", or "notified" (e.g., "Misprison of treason") Obama, Holder, Pelosi, or a Judge, that "Prima Facie Evidence" has been "submitted" to Congress that indicates "positively" that 9/11 was a blatant "Act of Treason".
